Seeing this commercial makes me want to time travel back to 1996. There was such love for Barbie then. These collector dolls from that time may look cheesy now compared to our more sophisticated face sculpts. But the Barbie collectors market then was so fresh and Hot! People bought them as what they thought was an investment they sold so well. Now most of them are very cheaply priced on eBay, so that didn't work out so well as a form of investment. LOL They did a lot of the older stars and older movies in collector doll form. I wish I'd been collecting then, I didn't start collecting till nearly a decade later. And because the Barbie boom of the 90's was over, by then Barbie collecting was considered a passe fad like those people who had collected the Beanie Babies. It's gotten fresh again to be a Barbie collector due to Trixie Mattel and the Barbie movie. But that feeling of those early 90's collector dolls and their commercials won't ever return. Thanks for uploading this since we can't time travel. 😉
