That is a great page!

I think the round barrels are meant for the S. American market. The 3 sided are for the European market. I was extremely lucky to get a 100 and a 50 sets round barrels from the same seller unused. I cannot get used to the triangular shaped pencils.

Thank you for doing this review. As someone who's only used the classic FC reds and wanted something more adult targeted and with more pigment I found the black edition's triangular barrel awkward and would switch to the eco soft although they are around 8 dollars, roughly, more expensive. Now I'm torn. I'm considering black edition mainly for the tin packaging. I'm here in Pakistan where there isn't much stock or choice. They mainly sell either the reds or the Polychromos here.

Hello Rene! I have not forgotten you. My dear cousin, Lenore, who lived in an apartment above me, and who was in Rehab, but had come back home healthy and happy a few weeks ago, died suddenly about ten days ago- It was a shock. Our mothers were sisters and we had been close all our lives. She had once lived with my twin Alice. Anyway, so I am mentally trying to get back on an even keel, as I have this awful neck disc surgery coming up in October. (I'll be in hospital for 5 days, after the surgery to cut through my upper back bone, retrieve the slipped neck discs and place them back on top of my spine with rods and screws. UGH! Sounds like a topic for a horror flick!) Anyway, I am watching your videos and enjoying them---I shall do some Alcohol Marker work with our matchbook mouse friend!) Hope you are well and had a lovely summer. ❤Lynn

Thank you so much again Rene! Still loving these tutorials for beginner adults. The alcohol markers are so helpful with my horrendously arthritic thumb. Are you planning any way to base pictures in books that are not single sided? I have not had great success with water based markers, unless I’m using the wrong ones? Had to send the Ohuhu ones back as they damaged paper, that was in a book though I probably should have printed onto marker paper? Any way to speed up my colouring would be very much appreciated and thank you again. 🙏🤗

Hi Rene, interesting review! I've seen those pencils online lately, but thought they were meant for kids. And now that you've changed my mind, they're like out of stock or they cost more, about €30.00 😂 I saw them on a second hand site, new, around €25.00, they're on Temu (€28.00) and on a dutch site as a promotion (less than €20.00), where the brand name is Qili. I've just bought the 168 set of Marie's so l will (try to) slow down, l said l would never buy on Temu but my daughter's BF convinced me to try 😅. And l haven't installed the app. because of my sudden shopping crises 🤣 Take good care 💕

Great video. I agree with everything you said. I've never stopped coloring from childhood but now there are so many better pigmented brands to really develop your coloring pages. It's so nice. Like you said it does take time to grow. And you definitely need to start with a very easy book to develop your skills. I wish I had of learned to not purchase experienced sets like prismacolor when I started my advancing journey a few years ago. It was kind of confusing with color names i've never heard of and so many options of one color. Then you come on here, youtube, for help and there are a lot of actual artist using these pencils. You start to feel bad about your own coloring skills. Then label their videos with "step by step," which is time lapsed, and you don't get any further than when you started. So I've learned to take my time and don't compare. I found a couple of channels that actually help you by explaining techniques. I color probably 5 times a week. This allows me to be really familiar with my colors and how they layers. Plus I use my swatch chart. One thing I do want to suggest is I make copies of my coloring pages so I can work out my palette on it. Or if there's a digital copy too, I purchase it. I don't feel like I am ruining anything. If I don't like it, I have another copy. I write down my palette for each item on the page. Once I feel good about, then color it in the book. I am so happy you are doing this because it's going to be very helpful.

Oh my goodness! What an amazing coloring book. On the dark pages, you could adjust the pages to print lighter. Those tree/woods pages are going to be gorgeous if done right. I can't wait to buy the book. Karen is a very gifted artist❤. I buy digital books any time I can. I had no idea she was on Instagram. But I am old school, trying to learn all these electronics.
