Hello! Because I have only multimeter, oscilloscope I tried to measure alernate magnetic strength using wire round loop. I asked to ChatGPT - what is the voltage in a loop (250mm diameter) when magnetic strength is 1 A/M and frequency is 2457KHz? The AI told me 96mV.It is a good start point: therefore 2A/M is 192mV e.t.c. When I would develop AC magnetoneter - I would use Fourier Transform, and in according to frequency I would calculated magnetic strength. There may be only etalon loops (for example first for 50-3000Hz, second 3000-50000K, thrid 50K-1Meg, forth 1Meg-5Meg, e.t.c.).When we amplifying and converting analog signal to digital domain - there is very easy calculate amplitudes of each fundamental Fourier transform frequency, and therefore , magnetic strength.

Very nice to the this impressive comercial, which shows the principle of improved clearance compensation for eddy current based defect detection in a very nice manner. It was an honor for me to work during the first steps of the project a couple of years ago and I can tell you, that the systems really works.

Bear in mind, aluminum is not magnetic..Maybe the one you are using for the demonstration is an aluminum alloy already.

Aluminium is not magnetic, you are absolutely right in that. But aluminium is a conductor, and when a conductor is subjected to a changing electric field, it will create a current of its own, and when a current flows a magnetic field is build up. Yeah electromagnetism is weird. There are many great experiments on KZbin showing this, search for "magnet in a copper tube" to see what I mean. Cheers

Hey there! I know that for example duraluminium 2024 with different type of heat treatment has different kind conductivity, because it depends of cristal lattice. So it is possible find out not only cracks and corrosion in this material but the abnormal ambient heat collision. Thanks

🔴Either something WRONG or something I don’t understand it.. How an aluminum reacts to magnets, does it got an update? The other thing is that a magnet suppose to attract metals not the opposite. Any clarification?

Imagine graphene would be interesting in your initial testing. Graphene oxide on the other hand is magnetic. I suspect advancements in eddy current as new materials get explored.
