Costco just put out 505’s. That should pretty much tell you all you need to know if you’re an older dude that doesn’t want skinny jeans! Lol Viva Costco, appreciate them lookin’ out for us “dad bods”. lol

I purchased these boots a few years ago, good quality and comfortable. Mine were made in Vietnam; are they still made there?

I believe so but not certain. They are not made in the USA I do know that.

Good review Bro n I got both..!! Now in 2024, Levi's launch loose jeans for man n woman. So, the style goes to bigger jeans. Start from regular, slim, skinny n now loose, baggy n super baggy. With climate change n getting hot, loose n baggy jeans is s good choice to adapt heat wave specially in equator country. Levi's think quite fast..!!

Bought a pair of 505 three months ago. They have changed the back pocket to a shallower design , and every time I have worn them my wallets has come out, in car seats, bleacher seats, boat seats. I won't carry my wallet in a front pocket, SO...off to the Goodwill with these and back to Wranglers for me
@davidallen3462 ай бұрын
The two things, I don't like about the Levi's 505 are the front area fits too tight or snug around the correct waist size. Also the leg openings are too wide. Which makes it have a flared boot cut look👖 👢😒
@davidallen3462 ай бұрын
I have Levi's 510 jeans 👖, it's very comfortable around the waist. The calf area and leg openings are not as tight as it shown in the video

The Levis 501 and 505 were both worn by the U.S. Navy SEAL during the Vietnam War and became a popular "standard" pants for them in field operations.

This was an extremely informative video. Thank you for sacrificing your boots for our benefit! 🙏 I noticed these don’t have the poron layer that the regular thorogoods have…do you think that really matters? Are you familiar with the build quality you the tobacco or other similar non-waterproof throrogood moc toes? How does it stack up to this 1957 model? Are the leathers less premium? It seems like with the decorative triple stitch along the side the classic would be more likely to get your feet wet even just walking through snow..would you recommend the waterproof form someone that lives in a snowy region or will the classic preform well too? Thanks!!

@peterchung83045 ай бұрын
Levi's Jeans 514 is actually tighter than 505, but you described the other way round in your website: totally misleading the consumers like me. I confirmed this after buying 514 (based on your opinion) and measuring it against my old 505. This fact is confirmed by the facts posted on Levi's website.

The hoods are way too short/small and the tall size sleeve length is a joke. But the absolute most laughable thing is the material of the inside sleeves with their Sherpa lined hoodies. No, it’s not Sherpa like you’d think it should be, it’s a windbreaker like polyester material guaranteed to reflect 100% of your arm sweat. You’re better off getting an off brand at Walmart and stretching the sleeves yourself. LEARN from this already carhartt, you’re still pooping out the same mass produced garbage from those Chinese factories.

Actually the warmest jacket is the #100115001, RN#14806, It is the Arctic down jacket. I don't even know when it was made, but I have two of them from probably 2008 or so. I honestly cannot wear it unless it is 0 degrees Fahrenheit or colder. And at that point you're just wearing a T-shirt underneath or maybe a long sleeve T-shirt. And then you just unzip it when you start to overheat.

Thanks for this comparison! I love both the 511 and 513. The 511 was my jeannof choice for decades. I call the 511 the young man's Jean and the 513 the jean for the hip old man. Or put another way, I'd wear the 511s to a party or concert, and I wear the 513 when I'm going someplace a little more fancy like a museum or....brunch.
