I can’t believe you didn’t keep that flounder for tea it’s a lovely tasting fish. Well done Liza.😊

It sits in the mud here. The mud smells and would have an earthy taste to it. Different matter if we'd caught it at one of the beaches. It was a great size though. Liza's biggest Flounder.

I've seen les mis 12 times now live. Last time was at Sheffield in October 2024 . Colm Wilkinson is best val Jean, then John Owen jones, then 3rd place Alfie boe even though he's got best voice . Only my opinion though. Lea salonga best eponine . Ruthie Enshaw best fantine. What's yours?

Liza went a long time ago in London. She can't remember who starred in it. But we both prefer the film version with Hugh Jackman.

Bridlington north pier is so comfortable. Pick a high water around 4-5pm so you can fish it 4hrs up and 3 or 4 down . Reason I say 4 or 5pm (at this time of year)is whiting switch on in dark when I've fished it before . Use fresh mackerel and frozen blacks on small ish hooks . There's normally a good run of dabs too . Toilets and food cafes nearby too .

Thank you Stevie for the info. Really appreciate it. Do you know what the nearest parking is to it?

@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 langsdale wharf car park ,looks like one big car park. However. It's split in two parts . The one on the right is a fixed price up to 6pm or something ,,and the other one on left is pay by hour. The fixed price one is cheaper . Take a trolley with you maybe, it's not far to north pier , about a 5- ten min walk. Choose medium to spring tides .

The fireblades are great rods, I love mine. The T1000 is stiff but I think it will show bites really well. I’m probably going to get a second one so I’ll have a pair.

I'm recently subscribed. Can I ask a question please . What's the rule of thumb with tides there at mackro. Is there a certain height that is a no no . I usually like to fish over high water . I have fished it there before on a neap tide and had no probs holding bottom 20yrd out .
@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca53082 ай бұрын
Thanks for subscribing. Welcome to the channel. Last 3 hours down, first 3 hours up seem to be good, what we prefer. Last 2 hours up, tide can be very strong. Slack over high water is good The first two hours down, the tide can be very strong too. The worst part I find is when the tide is really pulling, it's the weed that becomes the problem. It's that that tends to drag you round I find but saying all that the beauty at Makro is that you can catch at any state of tide and at any time, day or night. I found neap tides, are easier to fish. I would avoid the high 7 metre tides.
@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca53082 ай бұрын
Brilliant mate, let me know how you get on with it. I’ve got the fireblade GTs love em. But tips do bend round a lot when tide is really pulling. Still see bites well And really nice to cast.

I used to have a Shakespeare surf casting rod but notice I said used to because it fell to bits after 2 years of use for general beach casting with 4oz weights on mixed ground in southwest Scotland. It was a fixed spool 12 foot 2 piece rod but not the cheapest in their range. I soon changed over to Daiwa rods that I still use to this day. I bought the Shakespeare in 1993.
