How often should it get cleaned?
@justbeingme7719Күн бұрын
It depends. I tried to get my dryer vents cleaned after 17 years. Two different companies came out on two different occasions and told me that it didn't need cleaning. I didn't believe the first company. The second company took pictures. There was hardly anything in it. I clean my dryer lint filter after EVERY use. So if you think it needs it call a company.

@Spiegelsolutions4 күн бұрын
Yes it’s the same for gas and electric dryers if you can vent it outside you should but if you have to vent it inside this is the one I recommend

Its horrible. Your not cleaning vents. Your just getting the Lint vent carriage to the fan. If your not opening the dryer and claening it out your not cleaning the vent SYSTEM. Fires start in the dryer. And if your using a dryer vent cleaner kit from amazon for $50 its also missing most of the lint in the vent run. If your Dryer Vent Guy is walking into your house with either tool tell them to take a hike. And if they say they clean out 10 a day, they are full of it. There is your next video.

Drier exhaust is toxic and should be blown outside. This is a bad idea.
@sunshineisfine26 күн бұрын
That is against most fire codes. Odd the pest control was not aware of that.
@lisaotoole30826 күн бұрын
Maybe a secondary trap accessible in the house, in the vent line should be part of standard code.

A neighbors house caught fire, TWICE from not cleaning the lint out of the dryer. It definitely collects at dangerous amounts. Tip: Cleaning it frequently is recommended. Thanks E

in germany we dont blow the fqbric dust in the environment: every dryer has a filter. you have to clean the filter after every drying. We dont need vents. And a most people dry their clothes on a laundry rack, even in flats: just open the window or put it on the balcony. The clothes last much longer, and they smell so fresh

These are dangerous dryer vents and should not be used. They will melt quickly in a fire, making it exponentially worse. Use semi-rigid flexible metal instead!

Where do you guys live where the dryer vent connects to the roof? Here in Canada our dryer vent goes directly through the wall to Minimize any chance for the vent to clog.

This a cheap, easy, low maintenance option. If you have a gas dryer you have to vent outside. A filter would restrict airflow and need to be cleaned frequently as to not damage the dryer or cause a fire. There's a lot worse stuff in the air, but if your care, you could buy an expensive ventless dryer which takes longer to dry.

I understand why it is made like this but man... Why just let it blow into the air that u are breathing. Wouldn't it be better if there was some filter that u would weekly just scrub down and throw it into trash? Or just not haveing the outlet on the top of the roof and having it blow into some kind of fine mash bag that u would just take out. Feel free to tell me why I'm wrong in my thinking. I'm quite curious😅
