hello, I have an ALAN-1 6100 vector transistor upgrade i am installing in my tempest. are the 3 black transistor connectors that go to the deflection board all the same? they are all keyed the same so i wanted to be sure. Thanks.

Now we're talking. Bring on the rare games! I've never actually seen one of these in person. Todd at TNT Amusements had the cabaret version in his personal collection of mini's. He he has a video on it. This game is an alternative of the nearly identical Space Firebird. The ship graphics & enemies have been changed slightly. I'm guessing it was designed for a different foreign market, and for some reason couldn't use the Space Firebird name so they just made a few minor changes. The cabinet artwork as I see in your video is completely different however. Pretty cool. One arcade I visited occasionally back in the day had Space Firebird and I used to play it. The Funspot museum in NH had it briefly in it's earlier years, and I enjoyed it there too. Gave me the opportunity to compare to playing it in my MAME machine. Fortunately, MAME pretty closely nailed it. Early versions missed some of the sounds, and I'm not sure how the last several versions compare but the version I play this in runs great. My MAME machines run several different versions of MAME and I select the most authentic version for each game, and no version runs all the games at their best. I play it in my MsPacMAME cab which has a vertical 19" CRT and it looks fantastic as the original did. I have several control panels and I use the one with the buttons, which is how I played Space Firebird. Space Demon I just noticed from your video plays music. This is missing in MAME, otherwise looks & sounds spot on. Now that I'm aware Space Demon had music, I'll try a newer version.I haven't played an original machine to compare it. This game came out in the era when Nintendo made good games. For me, that lasted through Donkey Kong. After Donkey Kong, I found their games targeting little kids and too boring when I was an older teen by the time of the NES era.
