It's about Jake Gyllenhall. He was 29 and she was turning 21.

The "vibe" is not "dark", "moody" or "shadowy". Olivia was a goddess visiting earth to inspire humans to build their dreams. John Farrah created a sound that was perhaps, ethereal, to be consistent with the Kira being from another dimension. The lyrics are inspirational and profound but so much in alignment with Olivia's character. Magic is absolute pop perfection.

Great reaction and thank you for sharing. If you listen to "The moment I knew", it clears up the "It's supposed to be fun, turning 21" line. It's incredibly sad.

Thank you so much -- out of dozens of reactors you are the ONLY ONE who understands that we want to see and share the music with you -- really see the performance not a small corner of the screen for the performance and the rest the reactor larger than life looking wise and serious. Kudos for reading your audience. Jackson Browne -- poet, composer, vocalist, musician -- nice guy. The best -- who always surrounds himself with the best. David Lindley -- so grateful we have your contributions forever, You are so missed. RIP.

What there was at the time seems to have been far fewer distractions, and more dedication to the craft and trade of musicianship. I think there was a greater consciousness of the depth of competition an act would face in competing for public attention, and the performers would put in that extra hour or three every single day to develop their skills, and took care to maintain those skills once they were learned. I think pitch-correction software, the explosion of internet-discovered acts like Justin Bieber, and 'reality' shows like "America's got talent" have been, at the very politest, doing no favors at all with regards to the quality of performer that are reaching public attention. Auto-tune in particular is encouraging people to take their act public, when they should spend another two or three years practicing and taking the reactions of critical audiences.

Yes, this is based on a true story. Supposedly, she was dating Jake Gyllenhaal, and he broke her heart.

KISS does the best show now than back in the day. I listened to Motown too, so it's nice to hear this stuff. The SS album is not less than this performance, but of course it's always nice to see performers. Not the kabuki makeup that really makes it a show though.

Yes , it’s her past love story with Jake Glynhaal. The most toxic one I guess cause Jake is manipulative and narcissistic, and they’re both twin flames

All 3 of those songs were #1 hits. When you put these ingredients in along with Prince sauce you get an even funkier jam. This was one of the encores that night after a 2hr concert. Who comes out of the floor wearing fur boots walks over to the tech "hand me my guitar" goes straight into the song plays a guitar solo that was just mean then plays bass in your face and goes back down under the floor. Amazing

Back in, like, 2001 or so, I was in a community college course where they were interviewing some sort of "psycho" or something, but said psycho threw out the line "I reached out and kicked ol' green teeth right in the knee." I was like, "HEY! I GET WHAT HE WAS SAYING!" Turns out that it wasn't some sort of huge revelation into craziness, but, hell, at least I got a win that day.
