Another thing about the "mushroom glitch", if you walk around other parts of the light world, picking up rocks will turn them into skulls. Throw something into deep water, fish bones might jump out.

The pond of happiness also affects some of your drops, this is where the luck message comes into play. Bad luck: no drops, Great Luck: High quality drops.

The guard that the you female villager called when you talk to her is different from the other green guards. He has a spear like the red guard in the later part of this game instead of a long sword like the blue and other green guards. That said, the randomly walking green guards are also different. They have short swords instead of long swords, and they do not engage you in fights. I think this kind of green guard is the only one in their role to do so.

1st of all, you stop to stab each enemy.... Bruh you have to jump and kill enemies (that are one hit) to keep momentum. Not stop and stab. Also killing the skeleton heads are a horrible way to grind xp

Hell yeah, I had this watch! It died on me a few months in and I had to send it in to get repaired, but while I am pretty sure I eventually got it back (probably two months later) I don't know where the hell it is...hopefully in a box somewhere.

I figured out a glitch to get a higher score years back. I don't remember exactly how to do it but I think it had to do with resetting the game after dropping the bomb. You drop the bomb and (if I remember right) you reset and it will explode on the first level giving you a higher max score.

I would beat all the palaces without using the crystals. Max out your attack, magic and health. Then flip the crystals. You get an extra life. So the 3 you start with, the 7 crystals, plus the 3 or 4 you find on land. I enter the last level with 11 extra lives.

If you have beat the game in one player's slot, you can have a new player get increased skill levels earlier if you do this. First, use the player you already beat the game with, and go to the first palace and defeat the first boss. After setting up the crystal there, while the experience points counter is ticking upward to the maximum of 9,000, press Start to bring up the spell menu, and then on Controller 2 press Up and A together to bring up the Continue/Save menu. Going back to Controller 1, select Save and the game will return to the title screen, then hit Start again to bring up the player menu. Go to the second player slot and as your experience points counter continues ticking upward, your new player will have multiple opportunities for increased levels of life, magic and attack so you take out the harder enemies without too much farming at this early stage.

Finally time to get revenge to those bosses that caused me pain after all these years. Helmet Head, the 5 and 6 bosses and shadow link, without the corner tricks. This is great for speed running. 30 years later finally got to beat shadow link, without the corner trick. Thanks for the tip, what if I use the final slot with the same name.

I would beat the first three temples without placing the Crystals. Then grind the enemies in the temples until you have 7s in everything, then place the crystals.

The only correct answer to grinding the levels is to get the special item from each castle, then when you have everything most of the way leveled up you pound the six castle bosses and get the last ones.

Only farm bubble experience in Parapa Temple, skip upgrading health and magic and go straight for Sword until 4 (around 1k exp), then get enough exp to skip health and magic and clear the temple, you'll get 2k exp to upgrade to sword 5. That's how I've played Z2 for years and it's the fastest way to finish the game under 3 hours

I find it easiest to raise your attack levels to the highest first, so that you can defeat some of the more difficult enemies without excessive grinding.

Is number 12 only available after defeating Agahnim for the first time ? I’ve collected every heart piece except one and it’s driving me crazy. I don’t remember collecting the heart piece on the pyramid side and when I went to the spot, it wasn’t there

If the heart piece isn't there you collected it. Probably is one of the mini games: #4, #18 or #15

very little character development. IMO Secrets of Mana / Final fantasy VI are the take. The amount of detail in FFVI goes unmatched for a game of that time.

@@13entleyThat would just bog down the experience. ALTTP is more fast paced and fun than those, while still having nice little story bits that don’t get in the way and cool lore. Don’t get me wrong, those games are great, but you’d sacrifice so much replay value and pace to focus more on story or characters. I wouldn’t change much about ALTTP. Its so easy to pick up and play for being the way it is.

there is nothing in the number one spot, since everyone has a different opinion on the matter i personally have had the best experience with Illusion Of Gaia, played back when i was 5-9 and i recently picked up an interest into playing the old games i had installed for "when the time has come" i’m now 24 and hopped back on this gem, and next one is my all time favourite "illusion of gaia" i kid you not, i didn’t even knew english when i was playing those games and now i get to re-discover them, now that i’m all grown up… me and my parents used to play with both the game’s handbooks/official guide and a translate dictionary to understand them fun fact, my parent had about 50 pages printed for a guide on hidden jewels throughout illusion of gaia, and at the age of 12, after my father passed, i managed to collect them all and see the secret level my parent and i, never managed to see

Tip 0/7: when you first start, encounter an easy enemy in the field, then go back and forth killing them (sometimes you’ll get a point bag worth 50). Easy way to get your first levels before going somewhere without a saved game, and you can exit any time and heal.
