I'm willing to bet this book cost you more than $1. Am I right? It's an incredible book in incredible condition. I know there aren't very many specimens of this book in this grade. I dare say that this might be the only one. Congratulations partner.

A friend gifted me some 1970s early Robert Bell branded poly bags. A piece of cool comic history. Take a peek here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpOXc599hbqjY8Usi=CbKY-1mEm_ziPZ77

I actually have a stack of old backer boards I keep with various old comic shop addresses stamped on them... quite nostalgic to flip through those. Its too bad many of those shops don't exist anymore. And yes, I think most of us would agree that "smell" is something special!

I'm calling bogus on the TOS #39. The cover is too perfect and the inside pages are not white like the inner cover. The cover has been replaced, probably by a reproduction cover. SMH

I got rid most of my bags from the 1970s because they got kinda gross to look at as well as to touching them. I did saved some to show on TikTok to warn collectors to double check thir old comics to insure they are correctly protected. Many comics I purchased at a comic con when I was a kid suffered some tarnish from being kept in those bags for a long period of time. Luckily I wrapped most of my comics in plastic bags my father would use to wrap work documents and they held up remarkably well!
@Quite_Nuff_Sayer2 ай бұрын
The early bags were polyethylene (PE). They are softer and hold the smell better than the polypropylene which arrived around the early 90's if memory serves correctly. I didn't encounter PP until around that time. I think PP was cheaper to produce, but it's clearer and sharper, so the 90's collectors gravitated towards it, since they were using the boards too. This is what I remember anyway. I liked your video.

I'd love to come across some of those UK Marvel reprint titles. Seems like an almost random mixed bag of comic stories. I like the way they remix the classic covers. I just never understood the marketing behind some of the magazine titles, like "RAMPAGE." Very cool comic haul.
@Utubesanarc2 ай бұрын
Wow those Rampage covers convinced me more to buy it than the actual Defenders. Think thats a factor in low sales at that time. Like when they stopped showing Tigras hotazz ❤on west coast avengers. Stupid mistake.
