@@IanT-J I should be the one thanking you. I've often thought about doing the same as you did, but my head ultimately intervenes and tells me no. Impossible to set foot in the same river twice, as the water is always changing. The reality of that world was destroyed by importune events, so that it no longer exists in any form, however small. There's a dimension to these things we don't normally consider. Langoliers, hand of Providence, Krishna starting the flames of the Kurukshetra war, etc. But returning to that epoch (1980s) is curiously off-limits. Utterly gone.

Even though I'm Swedish I just hope you drove via Norway back because Norway is by ALL visitors considered to be one of the most scenic countries in the world! The past five years I have ridden three times a year to Norway since I just love the nature ❤️ You have to go a couple of hours north from Oslo before the amazing sceneries with mountains, turquoise lakes, fjords and waterfalls will begin!

Hi Marcus, Although the Old Z650 engine that I used to ride to Finland is extremely tired :( Although it runs well it drinks and leaks LOTS of oil. I’m in the process of swapping that engine for a replacement engine I have. I just hope the replacement engine is in better condition :)

Hi Ian nice vid .Recently my email was hacked so I had to do some trimming of my retained folders before transferring them.I don’t know if you recall but in 2018 you gave me some good advice for my first ever longer distance trip which was a present to myself at my retirement ( although that has quite worked out as I’m back part time) The trip planned was through France and Spain inc the Pyrenees.I still retain our exchange as part of the memory bank and your recommendation to view your KZbin vid of you and your sons travels.The Honda 500 cbx 2017 is still touring( now at 38k) and I have the bug always for more adventure .We’re off to the Black Forest this year and the Yorkshire Dales in March.Living in Bristol I have great UK tour options on our doorstep and we’re regularly off on the tarmac.All the best and thanks again .Richard

Idk to many items takes the fun away from riding a bike. Yes you have to go on an adventure but half the fun is doing things with the bike such as wheelies, hill climbs, jumps and much more. I've just been for a shower, during which my main thoughts were on the precarious tail lift problem. How about if you brought with you a piece for board, say 3 feet wide and a good bit longer than the wheelbase. Put it on the tail lift hanging off the back a bit, Then wheel it straight on. The bit hanging off the back should be easily balanced by all the weight at the front. But if worried about that you could rachet strap the board to the tail lift. Thoughts.?
@IanT-J
@IanT-J Жыл бұрын
Hopefully you enjoyed your shower Andy :) I was always apprehensive about the tali lift, I'd not really considered the size, my worry was the weight. When I lifted the bike from the ground I ensured neither Set or I were on the tail lift and adding extra weight. A large sheet of 18mm plywood would have been an idea but it didn't cross my mind about the tail lift size :(
