I really enjoyed this discussion. Some valid points were made. Getting the passport is definitely handy. The way Ghana is set now, it is understandable that people want to leave the country. You will work hard abroad but at the end of the day you know you will get generally a decent salary to look after yourself, but it is not like that in Ghana as I don't think companies respect the minimum wage.

I couldn't agree more with Michael the mindset of our people needs to change we as individuals need to look within rather than around us or what the next person is doing, u need to find what works for u. If everyone was to write down an amount that would satisfy them for life without looking at the next persons figure u would realise that everyone would get a different amount. I think we should also define what success means to us rather than what facebook or instagram dictates.

Getting the book is not just a Ghanaian dream ooo its a necessity. That abscence of family and friend hits differently. if there are some they don't leave close or have the spare time like you do. Y'all said it as it is. I think you should get another group of people who are civil servants etc to deliberate on this topic also. I am staying sssttttteeeeeeeewwwwwwnnnnd #MUGEEMU

Big up from 🇸🇳 I really enjoyed watching your video guys. We are facing the same realities in Senegal trust me. Young people prefer to leave and try to succeed abroad than stay here because life is getting more and more expensive. And as Michael said, it's not easy to be an entrepreneur. First of all there are too many risks and not everyone can be an entrepreneur. I will come to Ghana to see if I’ll find my way to success 🤣🤣🤣

This part 2 is very insightful and indeed entrepreneurship has been glamourized. Not everyone can be an entrepreneur and the narrative of everyone has to have a side hustle is very detrimental. Just as Michael said, some people are "book long" and just don't have the know-how to to be an entrepreneur. Being a professional outside is definitely a plus, you'll cash out big time but note finding the job too no bi beans like that

I can relate to Emeka but charle lass lass you have to find a way to thrive. I don't think social media has made our lives harder, I think it has just exposed somethings and made us value what quality of life could potentially look like. Some of our parent did not have the best quality of life but they did not know life outside of what all the people who japka in their time knew so they had such a hustle mentality. Drops mic 🎤

Good conversations guys. Everything that was said about the stay in abroad is definitely true. But one thing I will like to add to it is that, as Africans staying abroad you must want more for yourself. If the 2k is not enough to take care of bills and the family you should not be comfortable with it and be living hand to mouth. You should want more by continuously furthering your education and pushing for a better job/salary to meet those needs. That’s the lifestyle abroad if not you will sit and complain and keep collecting 2k. It’s not easy in Ghana as well let’s get that!! The basic amenities you get abroad, in Ghana they are not easy to come by example good schools for our children, access to good health care, electricity and water. You will have to pay more in Ghana for these. Have a lot to say but will just stop here for now. Great stuff OB nation and I loved the convos. Will surely stay tuned for more. 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Most people abroad would really like to relocate to the motherland. However, the cons of living in Ghana outweighs the pros (at least for me) and this is what is stopping a lot of us. I came to Ghana (my very first time after 18 years abroad) for a month and I was ready to go back after just two weeks. The system is very slow and it complicates things unnecessarily. There is nothing like living in the motherland but our leaders need to do better.
