I have a 2014 GMC Terrain and it has engine slug I have taken care of a lot of it thru double oil changes for a year. My reduced engine power lite came on once but not again! I don’t have money for a new car or engine. I bought this car for carmax a year ago and this was in my 1st oil change

It's most likely an austenitic cast iron called Ni-Resist. It won't be weldable if it is.
