Remember, the primary reason why airlines merge in this day and age because one airlines wants the other airline’s planes and gates at airports. In this case, Alaska is not only buying the brand, but also their planes, their routes, and their gates at airports like Japan and Korea. This gives Alaska airlines a huge advantage and now they r servicing flights from Seattle to international territories now.

For anyone else getting confused by the math, there are some mistakes in the video! Hoping this clarifies things: First off, the easiest way to calculate this is to simply look at: on the revenue side, the new model gets 10% more load, or 15 more seats per flight at $250/ seat, which equates to $3,750 in extra revenue per flight. Additionally, the new model cuts $500 in costs. So, the new model increases profit by $4,250 per flight (not $4,500 per flight as shown in video at the 18-minute mark). There are 1,500 flights per day. So 1,500 flights per day * $4,250 per flight gets us to $6.36M in revenue per day. 500M/6.36M is about 78 days.

We have taken only one song that will be produced in 18 months period. But ideally, artists get at least one song in a quarter or every 2 quarters in a year, will eventually bump up the overral revenue for the streaming section.

What was the point of laying down random ideas under the framework (which was good). Nobody ever came back to it and I found them very generic : personalised shopping, promos, influencer marketing etc. Would have been better to explore the ideas with the interviewer after having just outlined the skeleton of offline/online, existing/new

Thanks for sharing such a great case and proposed structure to solve it! I wonder if my structure would have been marked down. May you share your analysis? I evaluated as: 1. Diagnosis: a. what target is good & weak vs. competitors / b.what customers are looking for (Customer needs)/ c.trends 2. Plan actions accordingly to drivers: a. Price / b. Product / c. Channel 3. Implementation Financials: a. Revenue / b. Profit / c.Return over investment Thanks,

So i think the three solutions mentioned are costly while the cost of Netflim company is already increasing.. So the best solution is to limit users accounts to 2 devices and charge users 2$ for each new account and after doing the math the company will reduce the users lost revenue and will increase revenue.

one hundred percent should have taken percentage of that market which are from high income backgrounds (eg. 20%) to get that number down to a more reasonable estimate - also perhaps the willingness of those who do meet the criteria for this medicine to be taking this drug (as not everyone who is overweight will want to then take a monthly medication)

1) Overall confused with the direction of the case : it originally stated that through pilot testing, the cost-saving impacts of each tools were proven. Our goal was to think about how to scale these AI tools up extensively, throughout all flights. While the framework concentrated on that exact goal, the first step requested to calculate the efficiency of the first tool! and it takes up almost half of the whole interview. If the goal was to examine how much cost it would save, isn't the first case question quite misleading? 2) I don't quite understand the costs mentioned in terms of flight delay: if flight was delayed because it departed on time but arrived late- yes, there would be cost for fuel and maybe airport fees. But if the flight just departed late, there would be just airport fees and no extra fuel costs. I did think it was an interesting case, and I had a lot to learn from it. I wish to learn more about how interview cases are directioned through my questions here:) Always open for feedback or ideas from anyone:) I would be happy to be let known if I'm mistaken.

I think that the profit can be increased: - 10 000 rides per day - 400 cars * 25 rides/day (drivers can’t do more) - the robots can do 35 rides/day (they don’t need a rest) So we can imagine that the count of rides per day will be more then 14k/day
@A-studenta
@A-studenta Ай бұрын
Great insight. Supply coming from uber will likely go up by pairing with waymo. But the market cap for the number of rides in Austin might stay the same. Therefore, the actual increase in the number of rides for uber in this case depends on whether people would prefer waymo over other competitors.

thank you for the video! Really cool! Can you comment on why was your final recommendation still Yes/Go for this project when the calculated valuation was so low in both cases. You mentioned market risks and other issues that could happen, you clearly had too low valuation for 10 year span for best and worst cases, the capex seems (12B) when 10 year best val was 1.2B, so to me this would be a No-Go decision.....? thank you, again!

Thanks for the case! This one was challenging for me. I misinterpreted the task because I heard "reserve" instead of "serve." As a non-native English speaker, I wasn’t familiar with "serve" in an economic context, only in sports, so I focused on assessing reserves instead of estimating the domestic natural gas market size, which made more sense. While I’m usually confident in my listening skills, this was a valuable learning experience.

I'm trying to understand how Abigail would come up with this kind of framework. It's consisted of three main buckets of 1. Internal Operation (how is Nike impacted due to bad strategies?) 2. Market, Brand position (subcategories seems to be focused on DTC- which is good, but is it MECE?) 3. Channel(back to DTC) Does anybody care to explain further how these categories cover the things that need to be tackled, in order to reach the goal of maintaining 6% growth rate and 45% growth margin? I think she did a great job structuring her framework and confidently leading it through, when it seems to be a untypical, difficult turnaround case :) Just trying to understand more deeply how it's done!

Thanks for the case! It was great to follow through the solution. My approach had a slightly different structure, but it still covered all the key buckets that were mentioned. It's been a while since I last researched the FP market, but I noticed how significantly the share has dropped. I checked, and 2G phones accounted for only 1% of the market in North America in 2023. Time really flies-I remember that back in 2018, the share was considerably higher.

I had different questions at the beginning. But maybe it is too early to ask that? 1. Do we have experience with a sports bar? Do we have the knowhow and financials (costs) to open one. So feasibility. 2. Why a bar? Are we considering alternatives? 3. Markwt attractiveness. What is the size, growth and profititability of this industry. What’s the competitive landscape in the location.

20:35 I thought for a second there that there might not be any savings concerning the R&D side. As the interviewer asked, the assumption that there would be savings in R&D costs, stems from the assumption that Uber originally spent R&D expense on vehicles. However, since Uber seems to be adopting a model that leaves vehicle-wise expenses to the driver, there wouldn't be any significant savings right? Please correct me if I have missed something or should take something else in to consideration. :)
