The guy at the beginning of the video is spot on!❤ My parents both grew up during the Depression, they always said it didn't matter what skin color you were? Because everyone was broke and struggling!

I know those guys. I worked with R.L. between 1981 - 1994 touring all over the U.S., and Europe even Martinique an on a couple of R.L.'s CD's mostly pre Fat Possum, and sat in with R.L., Kenny, and Cedric in '99 a few times. Lived with R L., and his family summer 82 for 11 weeks. Kenny stayed with me in Holland when lived there. They were sure fine days. RIP R.L. Best luck Kenny

This is the America I grew up with, never heard anything about racism until 2008 when Obama decided he wanted to relive the civil rights movement in the 60s. Us country folks judge a man by his actions not by the color of their skin.

RL should have taken some of the money he made from Fat Possum and got some dental work. About all those choppers would have been good for was eating corn on the cob through a picket fence.

You people are so gullible. Every time he tells this story, he tells it differently. If you want the truth about what happened, the last person you go to is Burnside. He'll just tell you another story.

R.L ''I didn't mean to kill nobody ... I just meant to shoot the sonofabitch in the head. Him dying was between him and the Lord'' Cold ass lived a hard life were murder was more common unlike today.nothing justifies killing a man. this song is his own interpertation of 'skip james hard time killin' blues' his father 2 brothers and his uncle was all murdered within the same year on seperate occasions. in away 'what goes around, comes around'. neveraless this i love R.L

Theres a whole lot more to this story, a black man in the south kills a man in the 60s or 70s and gets 6 months? Theres a whole lot more to this if one man can beat the system I would prefer it be RL.

Bottom line is,...... RL is the man,....... stories tend to grow taller with time,.... if you were there,... cast your opinion i suppose,... but thats one Hell of a Blues Man,.... and hey,.... lets all face it ....... we've all been on both ends of a solid ass whoopin'..... someone has a knife n u got a gun..... think 'bout it.... ,.... we elect mass murderers into OUR Government for christ sake but I don't see anyone not using dollars out of a "solidarity statement" I fckn luv the guy,...

I love how many people see that he killed a man, told the story in a laughing manner, & they say he is "the man". Badass, sure. But idolizing a man for murder over a dice game? Fuckin' idiotic.

Well then blues obviously isn’t for you. And although this story is just his side of it.. he also lived in the Deep South as a black man when racism was prevalent. But yeah he’s really bad and his music is terrible 😂 you might like the fine music of Pat Boone.. lol
