so...I ordered this and it's a total scam. Paid all that money but received nothing. Their LinkedIn profiles show they are now living in NYC and ...doing nothing? One of them works part-time for a VC (venture capitalist) start up owned by the Winklevoss twins (of failed-Facebook fame). Clearly what they learned was how to sell a dream to get people to send them money...and then do whatever they wanted with it. I'd respect them more (and accept the waste of money) much more if they just came out and admitted that they failed, explained the reasons why, and apologized. For now, they've destroyed my faith in investing in new ideas - never again will I take that chance.

Yeah, OUR ideas of Holmes using the Inverness coat and Deerstalker hat becomes iconic from those Ridiculous Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes hollywood movies.... As you stated, those clothes ARE only for use in the country. Being a Victorian, Holmes would have worn a dress overcoat and top hat in the city----WHICH IS PERFECTLY ILLUSTRATED IN THE JEREMY HOLMES Sherlock Holmes TV shows....and in Those, the Inverness and Deerstalker are, correctly, only used in the country.

I have to disagree with it not being reference in Doyle's Writings. In Silver Blaze, Doyle writes: "…the corner of a first-class carriage flying along en route for Exeter, while Sherlock Holmes, with his sharp, eager face framed in his ear-flapped travelling-cap, dipped rapidly in to the bundle of fresh papers which he had secured at Paddington… ". I think an ear-flapped cap describes a deerstalker.

@verIncluding the deerstalker. For crying out loud, yeah there are plenty of other ear flapped hats. Whether they were around in the Victorian Age is a topic for conjecture. But since Holmes was portrayed wearing a deerstalker on a couple of occasions, and since Paget drew him with one, and since Paget's art is considered "canon", I stand by the deerstalker. What is it with people nowadays? They always have to be contrary. "The sky is blue. Well, on some occasions it's grey, like when it's raining". Geez... What did you think he wore? A flapped hat like Charlie Brown wore in the winter in the comics?

Look, the deerstalker hat was popular in the 1880s, and Silver Blaze was published in 1892, I think, which is a point in your favor. However, it was considered more of a gentleman's sporting cap. I simply feel doubtful that Holmes would have been the least bit interested in sportswear, nor would he have worn sportswear while traveling or while working. I feel it's more likely to have been a simple work wear cap with a flap, since it is mentioned that Holmes uses it for traveling. I disagree that a deerstalker was specifically referenced in any way. Holmes had a lot of different pieces in his wardrobe, clearly, as he was often going incognito or wearing disguises that would even fool Watson. I feel it is much less likely that when traveling, he would be drawing attention by wearing gentleman's sportswear. His rooms were clearly a mess of different things related to his professional work and studies. In all 56 plus 4, it is never mentioned that he undertakes any normal social leisure activities for a gentleman of the time, such as hunting. He was either working, doing experiments, playing violin, smoking, or doing drugs out of boredom. I believe for hats he most likely wore normal, low key stuff, whatever was of the most utility in his work, and things that did not stand out. Not leisure wear. Of course, this is my opinion. I thought your comment was interesting, and I was trying to converse, which is generally what comment sections are for- the sharing of ideas. Sorry to have made you hyperventilate.

I feel like communal people skip right over the sweet spot. Yeah, I want my own living space, but not as much of it. Yeah, I would rather have shared amenities so as to afford better amenities... so like a shared laundry room, kitchen, gym, dining room, yard, etc... Yeah, I want a community of like-minded people. BUT, the things I think this arrangement gets wrong... I'm not an eco-commie, I'm not looking to squabble over chores all the time. I'm not looking to wonder if my leftovers are in the fridge. If that means I have to make a reservation for what time I'm going to use the kitchen, so-be-it... but communal chore situations do not work. You can't even divvy up chores at work successfully where everybody's getting paid. EVEN WHILE BEING PAID, there are people who WILL NOT pull their weight, so DON'T EVEN TRY to communize chores and upkeep. You MUST keep it simple. You use an amenity, you clean up after yourself... You fail to do so, it's up to you to find a way even if you have to hire your own butler. End of story... And for serial deep cleaning, renovation, upgrade, and yard work, everybody shells in to pay a 3rd party. This thing where you're like, "The kitchen is Amanda's responsibility, the yard is Keith's responsibility, Sandra does the dishes, and Rob runs the laundry room" no. just no. That doesn't work. EVENTUALLY, someone's going to overutilize the laundry room and Rob is gonna get pissed. Amanda's going to make unilateral demands and decisions about the kitchen because she thinks it's a little more hers than it is yours. The yard is going to be a bigger job than the rest of the responsibilities in the household, so Keith is going to get resentful. Screw that. Zero tolerance. Clean up after yourself. 3rd party for serial chores and upkeep. I have enough experience with siblings... there is no such thing as fairness in chores. SOMEONE doesn't pull their weight. SOMEONE gets exploited. You NEED someone who's being paid to live there. Maybe they're being paid with a room and board, but the point is, they are not a citizen, they are a servant receiving pay to do ALL the serial chores and upkeep so the CITIZENS don't have to squabble all the time. Communes ALWAYS overlook this mechanism, and that's why they are so unstable.

When you ask if vinyl is really worth it, I'd ha5 to say no. Not for the money you'd have to spend. It's not just the cost of records over CDs, that's high enough. It's the cost of turntables and tonearms, cartridges and stylus, phono preamp, etc that could run into the thousands. I was looking online and I could spend $5000.00 for a CD player, but I think I can do a lot better. I go for practically, and for now, CDs and cassettes beat vinyl. Jerry W Carman

The title of the video is: Is vinyl really worth it? In my opinion, no it's not, especially given the price. Vinyl to me has gotten unaffordable. I'm afraid it's going to be CDs and cassettes for me.

Vinyl has not killed the CD or cassette. In fact, sales are still as strong as ever. Question is, how much longer will people put up with paying those sky high prices? They've got to draw the line somewhere.
