I don't know why we have to have the position that the entire Bible is inerrant and without error. It just seems to extreme to me. All it takes is to find one error or contradiction, and then you have to throw the whole thing out? Why can't we just chalk it up to scribal errors, mistranslation or human error? I mean, how did Judas Iscariot die? Two different stories. Why does that fact have to mean we can't then believe anything in the Bible? I just don't understand that position. You'll lose more people than you gain it seems to me. As soon as someone understands there is an error, or there is a contradiction, you're telling them that they then have to lose their faith entirely. And that is driving more people away from the Church today than it's saving souls. But we do know that even the new testament has been changed? The longer ending of Mark that was added later. The story of the woman taken in adultery (one of my favorite stories)? Not originally in the Bible. It was added later by a scribe. The only specific mention of the Trinity in John? Added later. We know that some of the Bible has been changed. And we know this because we have so many of the manuscripts that you mentioned. And that's without even getting into the fact that we don't really even know who wrote the Gospels. They were written a lifetime after the events they document, in a different language and likely in a different country. By literate Greek speaking people, not uneducated fishermen. I mean the Bible itself tells us that John was illiterate, but yet we accept that he wrote both the Gospel and Revelation? When he was about 100 years old? This just gets so complicated if you dive into it. But you make a lot of blanket statements here that just don't really hold up to scholarly analysis. Which should be ok frankly. This should be where faith comes in frankly. But to ignore what we've learned and cling to inerrancy for some reason? I just don't understand that.

I've actually never heard an unbeliever say that nothing in the Bible is true. Of course there are real people and places in the Bible. There are real people and places in the Koran and other Holy Books too though. That doesn't make everything in all of them true does it? It think that's the point of the questioning. At least for me it is. I've spent a lot of time looking into this. A ridiculous amount of time probably. I accept that a lot of the Bible is true, but I also recognize that a lot of it isn't. The flood of Noah that you mentioned for example. We know for a fact that this didn't happen as described. Geology and history prove that. It has to be a parable or something. Possibly even based on the Epic of Gilgamesh you mentioned. Or the census of Quirinius as described in Luke. We know this did not happen either. The Romans did not require people to return to the home of their ancestors from hundreds of years before. The Romans kept exceptional records. And having people move around for a census defeats the whole purpose of the census. This was Lukes way of having Jesus born in Bethlehem to fulfill the prophecy. Not saying Jesus wasn't actually born in Bethlehem mind you, but that the census Luke made up to get them there didn't happen. And you said that we can see Jesus tomb. Now there's no video here so I don't know what you showed, but I have to ask. Which tomb did you show? There are a number of tombs purported to be Jesus tomb. We don't know which if any are his actual tomb. There's simply no way to know. And I'm not sure how you can claim otherwise? The fact is that most of the truly important things in the Bible are only found in the Bible. It takes faith to accept them as true. Nothing wrong with that, but to claim otherwise is a going to far for me personally. Just thought I'd add my two cents here. I've just spent a lot of time on this myself.
