It depends on what you prefer - in terms of compactness, the Band 9 is better, but the Fit 3 has a larger display. The software is about the same level, the Band 9 can do more, but some design decisions in the application design are strange. Hi Cleo, it looks like this watch is cursed :D because every person reports me a completely unique problem that I haven't encountered yet :) But back to your post: I also tried to solve some problems by factory resetting everything possible, but I kept a backup data on the cloud, so I haven't lost years of collected data yet. However, I also recommend a backup to some external application - e.g. Google Fit to which it can transfer data using "Health Sync" app (green icon) from google play. Regarding the problem you have with not seeing the step count: I even addressed this problem to samsung support and it can be bypassed with a workaround where you stop the phone's step count and select the "all steps" option, if you only have one watch connected, the data must be logically only from this source. Unfortunately, I can't help you with your specific problem because there are a lot of variables and combinations of them that can cause the error (phone type, OS version, etc.) however, if you can return the watch, I would recommend this procedure or a claim. I use the watch with a Samsung phone and now, despite all the bugs it still has, it's at least usable for a casual user - more like a notifier than a sports tracker. But finally managed to solve the problem described in the video above. I wish you to eventually manage to solve everything and good luck.

As an additional thought, try verifying that the Galaxy Wearable application (and its plugin) has all the necessary permissions to rule out a problem on the layer before Samsung Health. The root cause is not necessarily in the Health application.

I did the bypass procedure with pausing the phone steps count, for the moment I get the steps synced from the Galaxy Fit3 with no further issue (although It's never shown as a device in the steps section). I hope that this will work from now on. Thank you for the advice for a second back-up with e.g. Google Fit, I will do that as well! And let's all hope that Samsung will fix the remaining issues of this "cursed" smartband in the next updates! 🤞🏼

@@MadChem I'm glad you were able to resolve it. One more important bug tip: don't trust the built-in alarm clock in this watch. I haven't figured out why yet, but sometimes the alarm just doesn't work and that can be very annoying in the morning :) this bug is still not fixed.................

Hmm, it looks like a new error, try to play with the settings for consent to use the location, the automatic update setting and also try if the problem appears when connected to data vs wifi, I think the GF3 uses the Weather channel, so this service must not be blocked for you.

Fit3 shows "Turn on location" when location is off manually, sometimes (1 try of 5-7) shows "check your phone" when I try to manually update but still no weather data. By the way It worked about 2 moths ago but suddenly stopped. Same on my other Samsung phone, logically it's a Fit3 bug, nothing changed after latest firmware update.😉

@@plukasKZbin I will not just shut up and not buy it but want to warn as many people as possible that these things are barely useful in counting steps and heart rate during a walk and are totally unreliable in monitoring sleep and heart activity during any other sporting activity. Be spend little to get little. people need to be informed because they need to be aware and not deceived. Too many youtuber influencers and users instead describe them as products that can compete with a Huawei GT4 or an Apple Watch or a Whoop 4 band.

Honestly, I don't think you can expect miracles from a device for a few bucks. After all, I also tested the Samsung GF3 and it didn't even work properly in the first version of the firmware, which can't be said about Xiaomi, although I generally warn against Chinese brands, because the software usually has a lot of flaws that manufacturers fix only after release.
