With a wave of my hand And a look to the sky I decide which direction I'll go And the only regret Is the time that it took me to know 'Cause I've wasted so much In the chase of the prize That the value is starting to show And it pales in the light And I see that it's time now to go Now I know nothing good can come of this So I hold it all inside Now I understand what's wrong It's been going on too long Even the good can break a heart Even the strong can fall apart Even the best can fail In struggles with the heart Even the strongest hope can diе Even your love can say goodbye But only a fool will try To strugglе with the heart At the risk of defacing the past, I look back And I see how it all came to be How I almost drowned in the pity That deepens the sea I can almost remember the cut of the smile I can almost remember the name But I'm tryin' so hard Not to repeat the cause or the blame I'm so tired of wishing for happiness I'm so tired of hoping for love Now I understand what's wrong I've been on the run so long Even the good can break a heart Even the strong can fall apart Even the best can fail In struggles with the heart Even the strongest hope can die Even your love can say goodbye But only a fool will try To struggle with the heart Oh, live and learn does not apply When there's no heart left to break And the only lesson learned is the mistake Now I'm tired of guessing Which road that I should take So I'm gonna make the choice That I never thought I'd make With a wave of my hand And a look to the sky I decide which direction I'll go 'Cause for too many years now I've asked myself why But now I don't wanna know Even the good can break a heart Even the strong can fall apart Even the best can fail In struggles with the heart Even the best can fail

In the night, in the darkness Love can grow or love will die Such a strange situation Thought I heard somebody cry I found love, inspiration We had time, so much to share Came the night, came the darkness I reached out and she wasn't there CHORUS: There's a voice in the night Cryin' in the night Can't you hear it Can't you hear it So much pain, persecution Disillusion and despair I think I need some consolation I think I need someone to care All my dreams, gone forever I feel them fade And drift away Now I cry, cry, cry in the darkness Can't you hear what I'm tryin' to say CHORUS You tell yourself, Don't be lonely don't be scared An' everything will be alright But the darkness comes An' then you hear All those voices in the night In the night A time will come when you are lonely When you get scared and too weak to fight Then you will cry, cry, cry in the darkness An' you'll be just another Voice out in the night CHORUS

Progressions of Power was my fav lp in summer 1980 when I was 16 years old. And my ear was learning discernment & my friends didn't understand. 39 years later, I'm 55 & it's summertime and I am who I was & I was who I am. And this STILL gnaws at my soul, lighting a restless fire, just like it did then. Fits even more now. That is music.

DIAMOND EYES Avion, from Avion I feel that your love is eluding me now I feel that you really don’t care anyhow My memories of us all fade away on call Like sand through my fingers I’m grasping them all It’s those diamond eyes So precious so rare (Diamond eyes So golden so rare) Looking so hard and I’m find that there nobody’s there You say that you don’t understand why I climb But the lights in your eyes are as plain as the sun in the sky You face glows a little bit hotter each day There’s a whisper in your voice telling me “Stay away, stay away!” I always remember the time when my I thought to believe it’s the end of the light But something has entered your fort in your row A ghost is staring at me with those eyes of stone They were just inside!

"I reached out, but she wasn't there..." Damn! What a line! How many fellows have ever experienced feeling so extremely lonely upon waking up alone after dreaming of a woman who could inspire them for their entire lives? This song captures that feeling so well.

Blessed equally in both vocal and guitar skills....does anyone know how very rare this animal is. Only other person that comes to mind is Randy Jackson from Zebra. I always loved this track because you get to hear Rik's killer mid and low range vocals as well as the high notes we all grew up on.
@rtypepe12 жыл бұрын
Best vocal performance that Rik ever put out IMO. The vocal range is unbelievable, 3 octaves maybe?? No one today can pull this off.
