My favorite singer in the world is Barbra Streisand, but my big brother in profile picture the great Benjamin Wright composer, was her music director for years. Check out my now favorite version of Gladys singing with my brother conducting the orchestra I. Oslo Norway!

I hate the word "underrated," but the Isley Brothers are the definition. Discovered Jimi Hendrix, covered by The Beatles, sampled by Biggie Smalls. And still performing at a high level in their 70s and 80s.

Amazing artist. Lost her son to heart failure in 1999. He was 37 years old. I have always loved her music, passion and showmanship.

I remember listening to this song as a kid, and wondered then, what this lady would be thinking when this very, day arrived. We can only, imagine the memories she has, as she sings this. I was 9 and 10 at the time, now next year I'll turn 60. So ya, the song resonates pretty strong with me, as well. My Best. Out.

With each and every passing year the words written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman contain more meaning to Gladys (singing from the heart and soul)and to those of us listening with our hearts and minds... The embodiment of melancholy are beautifully captured in these lyrics 🥹
