Adobe should be making simplified After Effects creation with tools like Figma. I know they already have an integration with adobe XD, but they need to pursue this. Creating in Figma is SO much better than after effects. This is the way forward for short form content, ads and so muchmore.

Absolutely. And now XD is also obsolete and not supported by adobe anymore…

Hum .. I have tried this pluggin... but I have three problems : 1. Interline is broken... instead of having 70 or 48, i have 0.1 -> All lines are visually on the same line ( I have to change this value on each text layer.) 2. the anchor point are little bit different... All my texts are a little up from the originals ( I can 'repositionised' alla my layer text) 3. and big picture are downsized at max 3500 px. working on windows 10 - Yeah ok ... but i 'm not the only one to work on this ;) Do you have an issue for this ?

Yeah, unfortunately is a bit outdated…but it is the fastest way to go from Figma to AE. For me it is still better to make minor adjustments than re creating the entire design in AE!

Nice video Matteo! I did however get a little bit confused about your thoughts on taking inspiration from and following the very newest styles and trends etc..did you mean that we have to only take inspiration from the newest styles and trends? Or did you mean that taking only inspiration from and only following the latest trends was bad? Btw. I believe i noticed a mistake on your webpage..down in the Awards section..the header says AWARS, not AWARDS :) Or maybe it is meant to be like that ..anyways, just in case, now you know, hehe.
@thematteovalentino
@thematteovalentino 2 ай бұрын
Hey man, thank you for the note on the website hahah. The thing with inspiration is that it’s ok to take inspiration also from old styles, but you always need to merge it with the new ones and the new content strategies. When you don’t take inspiration, you use older content strategies, styles (not necessarily bad but in some cases it can hurt the business that you build your website for) etc. hope this clears your mind a bit better!

@@thematteovalentino Yeah, ok, i gotcha! I have the same mindset as you then. I tend to use the "old" as the base and take the new inspiration as spice/sprinkles. Hehe, no problem :)

If you need to fix the navigation because you have too many links in one place, there are two options: 1- create a menu and nicely layout all the call to actions in a grid or in simple columns and leave the most important ones in the navigation, 2- try to spread the call to actions in different sections in the homepage. Hope this helps🤙🏻

I think you miss something right here brother. You have to make the distinction between a website made for conversion and a website made to look beautiful. Of course you can tell the difference immediately between those two categories, but it doesn't have the same purpose or the same goal. It's important to have a website that looks good etc but in matter of facts, most of the time the "very design" websites are atrocious when it comes to UX and functionality, precisely because every web designer wants to be "special and unique". Have a great eye-pleasing experience is something, but if you're just a "normal user" and you want to buy or navigate quickly, "Awwwards" webistes are not indicated.
@MichaelAtkinson-e5g
@MichaelAtkinson-e5g 4 ай бұрын
Completely agree. The first website was my favourite. Really clean layout, lovely colour palette. I personally can't stand a lot of the websites on Awwwards. They're not unique, they're all a carbon copy of each other, and the UX is awful. If you notice about pretty much all the websites Matteo highlighted, they're practically all the same. Awwwards is the worst website to look at for inspiration, imo.

Copy everything until you know what you're doing, then step away and stop doing it since it's toxic and keeping you from growing. You have big enough visual catalogue and knowledge to build stuff from scratch. When in doubt, take a look at your previous projects and say to yourself "I have done this, it's my work". Take the time, conceptualize and respect even the smallest element on the canvas and build beautiful stuff - from scratch, your head, your creativity. A lot of stuff on the platforms we follow as designers is pure plagiarism and that's really sad to see.

Great content. I really connected with the part when you said, "When you've thought you created something new and you are happy that wow you’ve come with something," I’ve been there many times. There was this project I did couple of months ago, then when I completed it I was really happy that I’ve done somethingspecial because I decided not to take inspiration from the beginning, then immediately I open Instagram and see that same type of design with the same style and everything, which I hadn’t seen before designing, I was so surprised. Thanks a lot for the video, and I can't wait for the next one.

I really love the motion design of the AirPod website but just a quick question. Was the AirPod designed using blender? How can one create or outsource a digital product like that?
@thematteovalentino
@thematteovalentino 7 ай бұрын
Nope but to outsource such task you can find creators on instagram, ask for the price of such work(which varies depending on the creative) and then you can implement it in your project. Another thing that you can do is find inline some 3D models of the object that you need and see if you can find something that fits your project’s art direction
