Love this- here is the Quad lowdown: Guitar bend in the beginning of Breathe that either isn't in the original cut, or is just significantly turned up in this mix Very different ending to On The Run, extra effects on top of the plane crash This mix of Time seems a little odd to me. In places it feels fuller, and elsewhere it feels flat, especially during the Breathe Reprise. Quotes at the start of Great Gig In The Sky come in slightly earlier than they do on the original cut. Extra quote I don't recall hearing before towards the very end. A little extra echo-y as well. Sax and first guitar solo seem a little to me like their noise gate is set differently. Notes seem to ring longer than they do in the original cut. Transition between first and second guitar solo sounds flat. Hear more of the end of Money as it transitions in to Us And Them, music and sound effects both. One extra little noodle on the sax during the intro. (As mentioned) Vocal echoes are louder. Don't have Surround Sound, but I'm guessing the echoes move around more than just left and right? Rick Wright in left channel louder during sax solo. Any Colour You Like definitely sounds like its heavily mixed for surround. Would love to hear it with proper speakers! Extra guitar bend at the start of Brain Damage (and a few other spots throughout). Either very quiet or left completely out of original mix, but shown in the behind-the-scenes clips from Live At Pompeii! Levels are way different during the synth outro, leading into the transition to Eclipse. Nick's cymbals are more muted. Vocal levels are more balanced towards the end, so you can hear more individual voices. Some of these changes (such as some flat spots) might be due to my headphones (or KZbin?) not supporting Surround Sound, it's hard to tell. Overall, I didn't feel like the changes were enough to make me prefer it over the original mix. Unlike the Atom Heart Mother Suite mix (discussed in this sub before), I didn't have any complaints with the original DSOTM mix that needed fixing. This is an alternate mix of Dark Side of The Moon, created in 1973 by audio engineer/musician Alan Parsons. It was originally created for Quadraphonic, an antiquated proto-surround sound system. The 4.0 system consisted of the Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, and Rear Right channels. There are things on this version that are not on the final mix, and the sound effects are much more prominent. Make sure to check out the vocal echoes in Us and Them! Interesting how much more of a punch Nic

I bought Napalm Death's " Harmony Corruption" album back in 1992-3. It was fantastic! I'll give Scum another listen, I didn't like it much back in the day. I wish Iron Maiden would play "Gangland" live. I love that song. It was written by Adrian and Dave I think but they never play it.

Really good presentation, Richard. If “Wet Willie II” ever comes your way at a reasonable price, you will love every track. Their cover of Otis Redding’s “Shout Bamalama” is better than the original and it hits you right out of the gate. Their first two records were produced by Eddie Offord, the same producer of Brit prog rock pioneers, YES.

The albums I'm recommending once you get them in, or if you decide to get them, I promise you, you won't be getting rid of them. You had Hip Hop, Jazz, and Funk in this video, so I'll give you some recommendations from those genres. Self-Titled album (Deltron3030) is a concept Hip opera album discussing the problems of what would be taken place from the year 2000 when the album came out up until the now period 2024 which is the year 3030. AceyAlone album (A Book of Human Language) is also a concept album that discusses life's up's and downs, in and outs, questions, and possible answers??? Those were the Hip Hop recommendations and they have special effects so they both sound awesome on headphones. Now on to some Jazz The Bad Plus album (Suspicious Activity) and The Bad Plus album (For all I care) are experimental Jazz taken to the far reaches of the minds abilities to comprehend. Now on to some funk. Jimmy Castor Bunch album (E Man Grooving) and Jimmy Castor Bunch album (Supersound). If you get these in. I would love to see what you think of them??? Enjoy, and I hope to see these being reviewed in the future.👍

It’s a cracking record. It’s got more psychedelic fringes than Zep, in some respects. The second track, Solitude, sounds like Love for the first couple of minutes… grooving bass, guitar arpeggio, then a pounding beat. But… at the 2 min mark the guitar squawl begins!! Then at the 3 min mark, the harmonica!I absolutely love it. These guys should have been a great cult band.
