What a dreadful place. Just look at its website. A college treading on eggshells and terrified to put a foot wrong. "inclusion, diversity" is stressed morbidly, and so terrified is it of the power of wokedom that students are practically invited to educate the college, not the other way around. Universities no longer have much function when they submit to the dictates of one ideology.

Is it just a coincidence or is Downing College associated with Down syndrome?

Hi!! I'm from Peru and I wish to apply to downing this year. But I have some doubts. I'm studying the IB diploma program and in my group of subjects I have History, Literature, English, Business managment, Maths and chemistry. I want to study engineering and I have good scores in my subjects but I don't study physics. Can I apply anyway? And if not, Can I have possibilities if I study physics by my own?

Aitzaz Ahsan (1965): 55 years thence Downing is still a fresh and enjoyable memory. To me and my peers the loss of John Hopkins was irreparable in '19 yet '20 took a more extensive toll. But the Master's words of solace, hope and confident determination represent the true Downing spirit of dedication, humility and the belief, indeed self assurance that we shall overcome (even if the vaccine takes much longer to reach some places - like: Pakistan🤩🤩).
