It's shocking to be friends with such a genius!! I wish I could do more music with him!! Have had a few gigs with him when he was music director of a play I was in, (this was in the olden days when I was a child) he's just the best...no one can make all the sounds he can...on whatever instrument he plays....and they are surely in the hundreds...I love this. Analog beautifulness..I'm sure there are digital devices, but the heart of it seems analog to me
Weird that Heather Heart was part of a scene that embraced the LGBT community, and now she's ultra maga who shits on them.

I wonder.. what kind of amateurs set this stage up, in a way that we cannot see either the synth or John, or even hear him talk. It renders the video unwatchable, sadly.

Not buying any more soft synths. Btw, had this one. A couple of upgrades, a couple of side grades , an old laptop’s power cable that could not be replaced and ,voila, no more soft synth. Hardware only-for years now. Glad, glad, glad. Tactile knobbery.
What really stands out is how far "video" related technology has advanced since the 80's, and how LITLLE synthesizer technology has! Basically, stuff just got cheaper.

Always sounds somehow as if it was lacking a body. It's midrange and then sub basses, but nothing in between -that big 60 > 180 hz you'd expect with a oberheim synth

Love hearing the tape bleed in the right channel, interesting hearing that artifact of the long time this sat in storage.

33:38 has anyone else noticed there's a quiet voice speaking in the right channel, radio interference perhaps? might be fun to try to isolate and amplify it by extracting the centre channel
