@@thetruthandnothingbutthetr6484 I rock my locs proudly, no need to infer otherwise. If I were trying to pander to a specific audience I wouldn’t be rocking them now would I. There’s a time commitment to twisting them every week, which I find exhausting plus I don’t usually twist my locs even on a monthly basis

I applaud your eagerness to learn! That's the first part. Are you already taking classes? If not, shop around your community, if possible get some feedback from ppl that have taken the class to find a good instructor. Be patient with yourself as it will awaken muscles since it's a full body exercise. And finally, have FUN! you've got this friend!

For market displays get yourself a Markham library card they have laser cutters and you can make anything your heart desires for cheap but high quality

I feel ya! Ok this is an idea I saw on Tiktok: basically this person sets a timer, say 30 min or 1 hr, to clean up an area. Maybe you can try that and then see how you feel about creating in the space you have. You don't necessarily need a big space to carry out those big ideas! Start with what you have and keep taking those baby steps 🌻 I'm rooting for you!

One thing I’m going to try is time blocking. Block a set amount of time to work on things and move on to the next when the time ends. I have so much to do but never know when or where to start 😅😅

when or where to start is exactly my dilemma! I swear I watched a video about time blocking but it's the planning part that slows me down. I feel like my planning has been sort of loose (eg. list of 5-10 things I hope to accomplish for the week) whereas maybe I need something more rigorous? Let's get it together this week my friend, and report back lol! Today is Sunday and I'm going to figure out a time blocking schedule for tmrw.

Loved your video! KZbin did a great job suggesting you to me. I'm also a Caribbean small art business owner and mom of two! Summers are challenging to work with the kids at home. This year I focused more on digital products and re-promoting to my email list what I already had available. I did manage to crank out an art collection, but that was definitely God creating that miracle 😅 As for your market, I understand the pull in both places. I would've stayed at the market, especially because the other parent is at home and has it covered. However, I've been in that situation before. While prepping for a vendor event I had to rush my baby to the hospital for stitches. Called the babysitter and let her know I wouldnt make it to her house and she was like I'll come to you so you can get your things and get to the event. I felt sooo guilty, but it ended up working out. I'm not sure if I'd do that again, but I had so much support that it reminded me this is why a village is important. My sister in law came over helped me iron my clothes, and when I arrived super late friends rushed to help me get setup. Besides the money gained wasn't out of greed, it helped my family, the event was a great opportunity, and my baby was safe and happy where he was.

Yes I think next time I would stay at the market as well. But I wonder if there is a layer there specifically about mother’s guilt that led me to feeling like I was failing my child by not rushing home.
