That is for scuba diving. With freediving, you can kick up as fast as you would like as you aren’t breathing compressed air at depth. When rescuing a blacked out freediver, you want to get them to the surface as quickly as possible as the brain needs to get oxygen for them to survive.

Haven’t spear fished but got the spear guns , I live faraway from the coast so hard for me to get the chance , shallow areas for me since I don’t get the practice that I need , I love Nelson bay haven’t been for a couple of years , I’m ok with bream flathead general table fish ludrics drummer etc , your jack was pretty big , awesome job , you guys had a blast lol . 👍

Sorry for the late reply, we've been super busy running spearfishing and freediving courses and trips the past 12 months and didn't see your comment until now. The Gold Coast is great for Spearfishing, you need a boat to access most of the good spots though!

@@saltypilgrims twas a very good but heavy wet dumping; unfortunately it brought down many trees across Kosi Rd in the Park, so nobody could get up to Perisher. The lake was low, all the beaches were covered by about 10cms of slushy snow - perfect for wider XC skis
