Hoth Han in a tauntaun fit my hands in a way that I have never experienced in any other experience since then. Boba Fett had a similar feeling as well as the Hoth Rebel Commander. The ATAT driver had a pleasing heft and Dengar always seemed like the budget bounty hunter that they didn’t have a better kit for. It was the summer after my 5th grade, going into 6th grade when ROTJ came out in theatres, which was a really bad thing since it became not cool to play with toys. GIJoe came out in my 6th grade year and the line was so much more realistic than the SW stuff that I couldn’t resist. I hid it from even my closest neighborhood friends. *(The survival gear with the gonk I believe had face masks from the minock asteroid scenes, but that might have been a different proof of purchase offer.)

Excellent video! I first stumbled upon book off while on holiday to new york and was our first time in the usa from Scotland UK and we went inside the store and saw all the hanging loose bagged figures and things and had great fun raking through the shelves it was a really interesting shop as we don't get stores like this in the UK. So we will be back in new york again this September so deffo going back to book off. Thanks for sharing and reminding me to go back 😊 🏴

@SentriTMC Thank you! and yeah we loved new york and is why we are going back this year as still so much to see and do. Book Off was indeed a nice surprise and looking forward to going back and I think it's mainly the kind of thrill that there could be anything on the shelves old or rare or vintage or whatever 😀. @SentriTMC yeah new york is excellent and now my fave place to visit . And yeah have hunted toys for many years now but isn't great for stores and things in Scotland so ends up mainly Ebay. Still have a place called Tommy's figz to visit he apparently has a stall in shopping centre thing near central park and sells old vintage toys and things then I hear there's a toys r us on 7th floor of macys so that sounds good

Oh nice and absolutely! Some really cool and obscure stuff which I love. The fleetwold/arco sword and sorcerer pickup is definitely not something you see often, same with the he-man sash. Need to revisit soon

I try to stop in every other month or so. I hadn’t been by in probably 3 months or more and when I’ve stopped in I’ve always had a ton of fun looking around and would maybe grab 1 thing. I stopped in on the 20th and holy crap… they had everything i was interested in lol. I cleaned up on Superman and grabbed like 8 things, an NES, some sealed ‘92 Conan stuff and a Mighty Mouse lunch box and thermos. The store had a lot of changes since the last time i was in. I also noticed that incredible transformers display and i was like damn, Rons gonna think this is insane. Speaking of insane, that Hall of Justice wasn’t there when i was there. I think i would’ve died if i saw it lol. I’m gonna have to get ahold of him and see what he’s got on it if it’s still there. Also i had the same thought on the “everybody loves funko pops” lmfao. As always, loved the video. It’s always presented in a way that’s like a true feast for the eyes; a buffet of toy goodness.

"Rule of cool" - great motto to collect by! Love the seemingly random set-up. Makes you take in everything instead of just rushing to your fave toy line. A real treasure hunt. John's passion is infectious. He's really good on camera, too. Should start his own channel, haha. Space Lego was my thing as a kid. Had so much. Always tempted to pick it up again. Don't collect Transformers but will always have a soft spot for them. Still have my childhood G1s. Starscream is my guy...

John is the best! I tell him all the time he needs his own channel. One of the good guys in the hobby for sure. He runs an honest operation, avoids the nonsense and knows his stuff. Anytime I go I literally spend all day there we just shoot the breeze. I am waiting for the day he inherits an ad&d collection that he populates that front table with… one day.

Absolutely. I say it all the time - one of my favorite if not my personal favorite toy shop in the country and easily one of the best as well.
