I’m so proud of you. I’m here late, as it’s the middle of 2024, and I’m going to see what you have done since making this video. But I’m proud of you. So glad you’re listening to those who know you best and have your heart in mind as they counsel you to do what you truly love and excel at the most. Those folks know what they’re talking about, I’m sure of it. God bless you!

I am just switching from pastel to watercolours and had far more pastels than I ever needed so I understand the urge to overbuy! Setting up your palette helps a lot. The watercolour pad I have buckles once it’s wet. Do you preshrink your paper or is it because it’s not quality paper? Can you advise on a good paper to purchase? I’m in Canada so may not have access to all of the English brands but do, of course, have Amazon Cheers

Love your videos. One suggestion. The music is distracting. At times annoying. Personally, I'd rather experience your work as "real" time. Better able to concentrate on what we're doing with you. Thanks for all your great work and instruction.

Hi Rick, I do get that, sadly I have to make money to support my art and pay bills, and full-length content apart from a few exceptions is reserved for my Patreon channel and podia sites. A small cost to the individual, but many supporters add up for me. cheers P

Hello :) A wonderful tutorial that inspired me to stop just watching videos and actually put my pencils to paper! It has been a good thirty years since I last drew and, as imperfect as my attempt is, I thank you for the only video that gave me the confidence to give it a go!

Thank you Paul, this is such a great lesson on the age old conundrum of how to mix a variety of greens. I also appreciate how you've shown how easy it is to alter a part of the painting you don't like, oils are such a great medium for allowing changes aren't they. That was a good move getting rid of the foliage on the lower left branch...I'm sure the giraffes would have eaten those leaves ages ago! I'm impressed with the cremnitz white, do you find it much different to zinc white?
@paulappswildlifeartАй бұрын
Thanks, Wendy glad that you enjoyed this one, and no I find the two whites almost the same, without the longevity issues of Zinc. cheers P

Most people who paint fluffy white clouds think that they're white. Sometimes they are... however, most times they're a mix of colors, and have shadows. I'm glad you've included shadows. Study clouds... almost always, they have and cast shadows.🎉
