I was in my first semester of college when “Dawson’s Creek” premiered. My media technology professor used the show as a lesson on filming, by bringing in a VHS recording of an episode. He showed us the scene where Dawson comes home and walks onto his porch where his parents are sitting there with bad news upon his arrival. His dad said they’re getting a divorce. My professor pointed out the detail of the camera angle of Dawson standing there as his dad speaks. According to a few of my classmates, that lesson served absolutely no purpose, and that it was evident that the professor was just a diehard fan of DC and was looking for an excuse to watch it in class. Oddly enough, he was an old fart who looked somewhat like James Woods. Word on campus was that he was gay. Mind you, I never saw one episode until the beginning of the pandemic when I started binging DC and then several teen dramas following. To this day, that “divorce” scene is engrained in my head. Like WTF does this have to do with the art of filmmaking? But hey, that’s community college for ya. 🤷‍♂️

ANAWANNAWAY .... love this song! The mid 1970s and 1980s was such a magical time - life was great as I was graduating from High School and attending College. How I wish there was a time machine that could transport me back there.
