Great video! Only one thing stood out to me. Due to the elevated privileges Owners get on SPO sites, I've always heard it's NOT best practice to make a lot of people Owners. Many users can quickly become confused by the additional access/buttons/options that appear as owners and can accidently cause data loss or undesired configuration changes or security impacts.

pls do not take it personally, but this is really 35 mins of BS. 1. for years there is no clear top-down workflow around MS365 = how to work conceptually. (if there would be, no chaos would have been created in the first place- e.g. with all the "planner options") 2. terms used all over the videos STILL undefined (tasks, actions, plans, goals, projects...) 3. it is fine that you are excited - but this is for years like this. A lot of excitement, and no viable product. Like with TODO - which for any serious professional is a childish product (even in comparison with the 10 year old Outlook desktop...) - just read the user comments in the MS communities - not addressed for years. 4. the new rollout/licensing is long and unclear - basically a money pump, nothing else. 5. STILL not having on one screen calendar and (whatever) to-do list is incredible (works in Desktop Outlook for 10+ years...). yees

Super disappointed with what was delivered in the “new planner”. There is so much basic stuff missing or just working poorly. Talk to users, please. I don’t need AI to create a plan if I can’t properly notify a colleague.

Re the question about managing the pace of change. This is important to our organisation and we would like to turn things off until we have had a chance to ensure they do not pose any risks and still comply with our regulatory responsibilities. Robert answered this question but it was from the perspective of how Microsoft manages the change and not how we as organisations can manage the change..... What options are there for Admins to turn off apps / features or services with the right knowledge that means we do not break something?

Question: Our marketing manager wants a high level view of every task assigned to every person across every plan in every channel (currently 26 events) in one Team. Will the new Planner enable her to get this broad overview?

Our 365 E3 license includes Planner and Project and we don't have the new Premium Planner? Is that right?
@tomrberg3 ай бұрын
Office 365 E3 includes Planner. Planner Premium is really the successor to Project for the web which was always a separate purchase and part of Project P1 and Project P3 (the names of these subscriptions may change in the future to reflect that they unlock Planner Premium).

Will I still be able to access P4W on my browser while looking at my project with the Teams overlay? It is common for me to use 2 screens and view Project 4 web files in a web browser and in Teams. For me this ability is very important. I realize no P4W functionality will be lost initially but, I want to ensure this ability stays in the roadmap for this.

Is there any plan to add a Power BI connector for Planner? I can imagine some really interesting things getting created with that along with the new custom fields that will be added (e.g. Agile burnup charts with story points) I realize you’re probably trying to push the reporting to the service itself, but there’s just so many more options when you introduce Power BI into it.

I'm all for meeting the people behind the curtain, but the other half of this title was "what's coming next". What we were told was: There's a new logo, the existing timeline is still the same (and largely undefined), that Copilot was coming (but only for people who pay for the second tier license), and... nothing else really? Just didn't feel like there was much substance here.
@Maria_Espino4 ай бұрын
I can understand the frustration of not having a focus on Planner for a long time, we can just look at it this way: I’m glad they’re focusing on it now. And what I’d love to see is the merger of Project for the Web INTO PLANNER. I’m hoping that happens in our near future. Like I understand it’s hard because it’s the merge of two teams and two separate platforms. It’s not an overnight thing. But I’m here for the improvements no matter how minor we see them.

Thanx so much for this feedback. The main focus right now is on performance, reliability, the new UI (which we showed and discussed) and the coherence of the data itself. If you used Project on the Web, ToDo or Tasks in Teams the UI itself is the big step forward with the balance being behind the scenes. Hope that clarifies what we were talking about / showing. You can find the specifics of the timeline at aka.ms/M365Roadmap but the new UI needs to get out to all first.

We all need a roadmap amidst all this change. And if the technology is fracturing or further making a mosaic out of your user experience, it’s time to focus and simplify. And when in doubt or overwhelmed, reach out and ask for an actual human-led use case. We go farther together. 🎉

When users don't connect then you can't update their versions and later on it's flagged as unsecure. Why can't you just produce a universal uninstaller like Zoom?
