Transfer case in neutral...steering wheel able to free wheel (not locked)...toad brake in place and tested (Blue Ox, or other brand)... runaway tether in place...umbilical in place(for brake lights and turn signals AND wired properly to pass 12 volts to toad to keep toad battery charged)..check for lights operation (EVERY TIME )... . All this is in the Blue Ox manual. A basic understanding of what you are doing, and what is going on is required. Let's be safe out there, but we're only as safe as the weakest link...don't be that link.

All front wheels have "caster" similar to grocery shopping carts that allow them to turn left and right as needed to harmlessly follow the tow vehicle, but if (and only if) the steering wheel is able to rotate which is why a steering wheel lock must be disengaged with the key if equipped with that anti-theft feature which not all vehicle have. Towing with the steering wheel locked will NOT prevent the front wheels from rotating normally, but will quickly wear off the tread all the way around the front tires as shown due to being dragged sideways during curves and corners which doesn't happen when "caster" is allowed to do it's job.
@ExploringThroughOurLensАй бұрын
Thank you for providing the clarity on this. My hope is people can learn from our mistakes.
@JoeBlowskiАй бұрын
@@ExploringThroughOurLens You're welcome. I'll add that without "caster" (and with the steering wheel not locked) the front wheels would quickly turn all the way left or right and get dragged in that position, because "caster" is what causes the wheels to stay pointed toward the tow vehicle.

Well, that's why I'm on your form I'm researching, and I learned nothing I still DO not know why your wheels locked up if the steering wheel locked up that will not keep your wheels from turning Just the steering However on turns your wheels will slide sideways while turning So once again, I'm lost to how you lost threads all away round

Miracles are man's everyday life. It is because of our lack of communication and connectivity to God that we do not come to experience it everyday but in times where we don't expect or in times we pray eagerly and with pure heart that is the time we see God's presence manifest in our lives. It's just my view.

We've been TT members for 5 years and have gotten our money's worth for sure. I just looked at our stays for the past 5 years and we have stayed for 285 nights. We didn't use TT much at all in 2020-21 for obvious reasons. Even 2022 was limited because of fuel prices. Current rack rate for the campgrounds in the east (where we've been camping the last 2 summers) is more like $60-100 per night. The last 2 years (140 nights) at a median price of $70 is about $9800. For the 5 years, estimating $50 a night for 285 nights is $14,250 or about 2X what we paid for the membership and dues over the 5 years. I agree, TT has a different definition of 'resort', but they are decent campgrounds. We use the campground as a place to sleep while we explore the area. We aren't there to be entertained. This membership has been one of our best investments.

Happy you like it - if this is the best that Thousand Trails has to offer, I appreciate the video in helping decide to purchase. Can’t believe the first thing you complain about is “parking”. When are our seniors going to understand, the reason why there’s no parking is because people want to be there. You yourself are part of the problem is you chose to drive and park right on Main Street. New hope has so much potential but the constant traffic and cars flying by and huge parking lots make it really ugly. Yet people want more…

I’ve trying to find information about visitors registration. How they control who is in the camp? Do they use wristbands? Or do people can walk in no problem? Can you stay in a cabin for 5 and sneaking 2 more? I’m just concern about security and I’m not an expert, just looking to star new memories with the family and try something new.
@ExploringThroughOurLens3 ай бұрын
Thank you for checking out our video. I cannot say what it would be like to try and get more people in then you are saying are there. Yes security might find out and that would really ruin a trip. I do not know if they have wristbands when people are staying in cabins but you would be taking a big chance.

The savings increase the more you use your membership. If you camp occasionally it doesn’t pay . We have basic with added zones. The biggest issue is scheduling. Some parks are really run down. Hove you been to Medina Lake in Texas? Very run down but we had a nice time there anyway. Like you stated, if not for Thousand Trails we wouldn’t be able to do all the roving that we currently enjoy.
