cant we do trials without a drive, cant we do simulation only

Nice clear understanding, just started this course. Instructor teaches as if we been do this. Some of us never seen a PLC, I have seen one, just never had hands on.

I know this is old. But when using a UDT, lets say you have one set up for alarms. And you have inputs for hi level, low level, etc. (Multiple inputs). Can you map each input to the same UDT? or do you have to create a separate UDT for each input? I feel like i already know you can use the same one for all, but just want to clarify.
@VladRomanov8918 күн бұрын
A UDT is a data structure, you can write anything you want into those registers. In other words, a pump UDT is nothing but a combination of bools, reals, ints, etc. you can use those in any instructions.

@VladRomanov89 thank you. I understood it, but couldn't process how they could then be used for seperate inputs but the same "logic routine". Then I seen someone compare it to a Timer. Having the options for .DN .TT .EN etc. Ooooh that makes sense. And you said the same thing in a different way. Appreciate you taking the time to answer a question when OP was so long ago.

@@kylewellman402 I try to keep up with the comments, but as you can see many get unanswered. It's something I'm still heavily involved with, so happy to help when I can. Hope the UDT makes sense.

@solisPLC, I am just exploring the Codesys, but one things about which I am skeptical that how the traditional programming languages dedicated to Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs. Presently, we are making our logic in TIA portal and studio 5000 and then downloading into the PLC. But, at this stage I am clueless about how codesys created logic can be downloaded into our well-known PLC. Moreover, there is a separate software for each PLC. How the code of codesys is compatible to PLC. Please put some light this topic help us to navigate through the fascinating programming codesys software.

In the UDT, the data type wasn't linked to anything such as a physical input. For example, you created a start button that was BOOL but it wasn't linked to a local or memory bit so if you use it in a program, it won't do anything as far as I can tell. Maybe I am missing something. Is there another step to the process?

Sucks because I don’t have scp on my rslogix 🥲 I do have ccw tho about to buy a micro logic 850 along with my micro logic 1000 . I swear to myself I have to learn how to scale any analog. I started out learning digital inputs and outputs now analog feels abit harder

If I need connect a tooling with different ip addresss than plc . Let's say tooling have scanner, cameras, sensors ,pneumatic block ,ios everything with ip 192.20.20.xx but the plc is 192.168.1.1 with Gateway 192.168.1.2 I cannot change ip addresses tooling because should run in different lines. What can I do for plc 192.168.1.xx be able to recognize the tooling with devices 192.20.20.xx?

It's harder than you might think. I don't talk fast on purpose, it's just how I've always done it. It's also very difficult for me to adjust anything in the past; this video is 5 years old. In either case, if there are better resources, I welcome you to use them, my goal was to share the information I have, but if it doesn't work for it, that's completely fine.
