Frank, the melody sounds great on a 7 string where you got the low D at the fifth fret … Relayed compliments of John Pizzarelli 😂

Isn't frank n just the Greatest , his inversion incursion course changed the way that I view the fret board, and the cool part is because it's chords I could just expand it into arpagios and it works exactly the same way. Now I can navigate to the neck and improvise just using those basic concepts of positions.

Masterful! Such great teaching; a concise, structured, and paced delivery with plenty of repetition, context, and humility, with no waffle. Perfect. 👌

I developed a keen inner clock for these kinds of changes from playing bass. Talk about getting lost. Eventually I heard a lesson with a bassist who talked about playing some 2-5s now and again to box out two and four bar phrases. That totally did the trick. I didn't even need to play them for real or maybe just threw in a few passing notes to imply them but not really make them land. It really helps every other player at the session, too.

I haven't played this tune a whole lot, but I do remember getting lost a few times. You laid it out and paced it well, and got me thinking maybe I could give this composition another try. Thanks for that!

I just want to say ive been off and on for ever. Never picked a key and played the major scale by ear on one string and today after the second video I found c on the 8th fret then found each note of the pentatonic between 3 root notes. I almost cried hearing it out loud. Cs just kept popping up so I kept going. Thank you for giving out this information. I appreciate your time very much.
