Well well well. I'm a little surprised to come across this (albeit nine months later!) and still even more surprised to be the first person commenting on this channel. What an integral conversation. Somewhat bleak, yet honest and speaking from a place of experience and genuine knowledge. Is Derek nowt but the misery guts of modern ecology? Or is he a forefather of radical change? However you judge him, his achievements (most of which were not even touched upon in this video) far outreach his perspective. What can possibly drive such a man? And do his views really reflect the reality of UK wide conservation efforts?
