We stayed at Novotel Paris Val De Fontenay. The boarding point of Sienne River Cruise with Bateux Parisien is in front of Eiffle Tower (10 mins walk from the metro station)

Thanks for the kind words. PRTD is required if you are a permanent resident and don't have a valid PR card to re-enter Canada. The reasons for not having a valid PR card could that you didn't received ypu first PR card (your case), or lost or stolen or expired PR card. COPR is not valid for re-entry to Canada

It depends on the package you choose. So to give you an idea for a family of four with drinks and wi-fi package it will be between $8000 to $10,000. This variation in price is how early you book. If you book a year in advance then you get the best deal.

Hi, not sure if you can advise but I am doing the 'personal particulars' update for OCI renewal as I had my passport changed and name changed. One of the evidence asked is employment letter - can you advise on that? It says employment letter requires job description. No company I know provides an employment letter with the job description, it is usually with the job title, start/end date, permanent post or not etc.

Hello, I haven't done particulars update, but I think an employer should be able to provide a brief job description in the letter. If not I would print a job description from employers website and submit it along with the letter

You only have to reissue OCI only after turning 20 yrs and then after turning 50yrs. For all other time you just have to.update the canadian passport info (once you renew the passport) as per my video. The OCI card stays the same

@ravneetbawa457 No once you update your OCI online and it is approved then no need to carry the old passport with you. But if the process is still undergoing and not completed, then as a precaution I would carry the old passport as well.

Thanks for the appreciation. Unfortunately to get the application number you have to call ircc call center. In online applications you don't get the application number right away. Once the ircc customer service tell you the application number than you can create an online ircc account and link your application with the number to know the status

Once we received confirmation email of OCI details with new passport updated. Do they email us some attachments pdf file which we need to carry while travelling to India.

No just the email. You can print that and also the application status page. That should be enough proof to carry. But if the status is updated they won't ask for it but good to carry them.

Hey I lost my pr card while travelling to India recently for medical reasons. I was a PR since feb2023, I am confused about meeting the residency obligation, should I apply for humanitarian grounds or show that I can meet residency obligation by showing rental agreement and noa etc.?

Hello, if you lost your PR card, and since you are a new PR, I would suggest apply for PRTD through normal channel (not on humanitarian grounds). You can include police report and copy of your PR card and explain your situation. Humanitarian cases take long time to process and is for cases where residency requirements are not met. PRTD normally takes around 6 to 8 weeks but you can request urgent processing explaining your situation. But I would suggest not to book your return tickets unless you receive your PRTD in India.

Hello, I am from Afghanistan. I entered Canada by land on March 2, 2023 without a passport and applied for asylum. The court decision was positive on October 31, 2023 and I applied for a PR card. I just received an email saying that I applied. And in this email, it says that my application has been sent and that they will contact me later. By the way, I applied for a travel document and it arrived a week ago. Can I go back and forth to Turkey without any problems with my travel document and court decision? or what do I need to go back and forth without any problems? Thank you.

You can enter Canada if you have a Canadian Passport or Valid PR Card or a valid visa (like study, work.or tourist). Apart from all the above you will have to apply for PRTD from the country you visit.

If you are a PR, then you should have a valid PR card. In that case in you don't need a PRTD.

Oh yes in that case you should be able to apply for PRTD no problem. Just keep copies of all documents with you to submit Like polic report of PR stolen, you application number for new PR card application and so on...

As this is a border line case with your age so close to 50, I would suspect you would have to renew your OCI. To be on the safe side email BLS.
