Dude! I had never in my life done a brake job on a car. This was my first time doing one. Thank you so much for sharing with us non-mechanics a step by step process on how to do one. Very well done!

Thanks for the vedio. After removing the lower bolt, I encoutered the problem of the rear caliper with a rusty upper pin that I could not recenter it to fit for the new pads. Now I know how to take the caliper off and what to do with the pin.

Hey do we have to change out the rear inside brake too? Does it get regular use or is it just for the e brake?
@2cars1garage147 ай бұрын
Only if your emergency brake doesn't work, that's all that is for back there. Also if you don't use your emergency brake then you don't have to worry about servicing those brake shoes behind the rotor. Thank you for watching our video!

Which way does the water pump screw turns to remove

Drive along a quiet street or alley that has a block wall and roll down the window. The wall will reflect any strange sounds the car is making back at you.

Coming back after replacing 4 rotors plus brake pads. Pain in the ass because rear caliper was broken. Happily I'm 10 minutes from a junkyard and was easy to get one. Not that bad after getting the caliper replaced. Thanks for the video !

how long did it last? i bought a an 06 Lexus and the headlights look like your Acura did. Dude told me he did the headlights(didnt say how) and that they fogged back up in a cpl weeks. WIll do this in a heartbeat if it lasts a while.
@2cars1garage142 жыл бұрын
It lasts a long time! There are methods that are easier that do only last a couple week. This method lasts about two years

Without some kind of rust prevention UNDER the abutment clips, in the Salt Belt, this WILL eventually rust jack the pads and seize them in the bracket. (Number one reason for brakes sticking!)
@carlbogush47892 жыл бұрын
Informative video, thanks! May want to mention when installing new rotor, be sure to line up the hole in the rotor with the hole to access the e-brake tensioner wheel (your install appeared to have it blocked).

Bro, when I have a screwed water pump impeller, it flies to the sides, now I do not know if there should be a sleeve there or the impeller is suitable for trash Sorry for my bad English
@rapscallion34212 жыл бұрын
I would buy a new impeller, I've went through many on my yzs over the years they may look in good shape but the smallest grove can cause problems. I rebuild my water pumps every year, the impeller and bearings spin more than any other components on the bike, they are a high wear part.

i have an 06 lexus 330 i had two pistons in the caliper. that was difficult for me to compress. yours looked like one piston. thanks for video
@2cars1garage142 жыл бұрын
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching
@HouseCallAutoRepair2 жыл бұрын
Two pistons is FRONT. Rear caliper has ONE piston. If the car does NOT have parking brake SHOES, the calipers's piston cannot be PRESSED back in. It MUST be rotated back in!

I’m not going to give a thumbs down I’ll just give some pointers. First I hope you can get a better work place. 2. Do close ups of seals and parts it’s easier to show then explain. The camera is your friend. Different angles and close up will make for a better more interesting and helpful video. 3. I know your learning too so maybe update or redo video the next time you do it with better methods and explanations. From one mechanic to another. All and all great job and keep em coming.
@2cars1garage142 жыл бұрын
Thank you for not giving me a thumbs down. I rely appreciate that. Unfortunately my garage space was being used at the time. In future videos I'll definitely be using the appropriate work area as well and much better angles with the video. It was incredibly difficult to do this job on my deck but hey sometimes that's how it goes.

Isn't there a special tool to remove the bearings instead of a hammer and socket
@Steelerfan8202 жыл бұрын
Never pound on inner race of bearing other then that great video.
@2cars1garage142 жыл бұрын
That's what the book said to do. I could understand if you're trying to reuse the bearing why you wouldn't want to. However, since I was replacing it, it made more sense not to chance scoring where the bearing seats.
@2cars1garage142 жыл бұрын
We always appreciate the feed back though 🙂
@2cars1garage142 жыл бұрын
I should also clarify that i would never install a bearing using the inner race. Only the outer race upon installation.
