College of Nursing - Kandana

College of nursing kandana was established in 19th of September 1989 as the 10th School of Nursing in Sri Lanka under the name of 'Aniya Kanda nursing school'. The first principal was Mrs.Mallika De Silva and the 1st nursing batch consisted of 191 students which stated in 28th of September 1989. Here after school name was changed into 'College of Nursing Kandana'. First Midwifery batch started in 1st June 1994. Today, it is one of the leading Nursing School in Sri Lanka. School of Nursing Kandana is conducted Diploma in General nursing, Diploma in Midwifery and six-month Midwifery course for Registered Nurses and Management and supervision training for post basic students. Currently, Mr.D.M.Wimalarathna holds the position of principal and has a teaching staff of 11 special grade nursing tutors and 15 grade one nursing tutors.Let us respectlly remember all the principals and all the tutors who dedicated themselves to bequeathing a generation of good nurses to the world for 33 years.
