But if Nietzsche is stating that evil is born from a lust for unattainable power, then isn’t he agreeing that evil exists? Especially since almost every human on the planet has a lust for power and nobility. Surely it’s almost impossible to argue otherwise that looking beyond good and evil is possible. And could you please explain what you meant by thinking of things as just evil is damaging? And also how should we navigate philosophically otherwise? I’m genuinely just interested and want to understand more. Thank you. Great video!

What counts as a ship, or any object for that matter, is completely arbitrary - if you remove the sails, the deck, the hull planks, when does it stop being a ship? There’s a boundary there which is defined by us humans ^^ and in the same way, we can argue both that our cells are replaced and our personality changed and that our memories and body and genes are largely similar, all dependent on what we define as a person. My answer to the ship of theseus would therefore be that it doesn’t really matter - the Ship of Theseus exists in this theoretical universe where change is the exception and not the rule when in fact, and I can’t remember where this quote is from, change is the only constant in the real world. Hope that made sense and wasn’t too rambly 😂

No. Thats the beauty of change. However, there are two paths of change, a positive and a negative change, one can lead us to become more of who we are(Which is basically who we wish to be), and the other can lead further from who we are and closer to who we are not(Which is basically who wish not to be).

Has nietzsche also talked about master‘s morality? Seems kinda one sided to just point out what‘s bad about slave morality because if that‘s bad I can‘t imagine master‘s morality being better.
@Absurdyssey20024 күн бұрын
Great question! He has indeed, however he doesn't really characterize masters as "bad" per say. The reason for that, is a simple difference between masters and slaves. Masters pursue their "will to power" while slaves just antagonize them by calling whatever they pursue "evil". That's why Nietzsche criticizes that kind of morality/mindset and suggests that every human has to give into their will to power (in my interpretation).
