Did you have to modify the compressor and turbine housings for the wheels?
@locomotives4105

The compressor wheel fit perfect, the turbine hole had some surface rust which caused it to hit but I ported it with a circular sandpaper kit you get from harbor freight that attaches to a drill, fairly easy rebuild and worth every bit of the $270-$300 the kit cost.

You just snip the smaller wire and put another connector on it is what I did, truck starts like a new duramax. I do recommend checking out the flywheel when replacing the starter, mine had a few teeth a little worn so a new billet flywheel is in the near future.

I've replaced the water pump with sinister diesel welded pump, and now it runs just shy of 205, I want to say average is 190-205 now, but my temp sensor may be factory so it's probably the next thing I replace. Sorry, truck has been parked for the past few weeks due needing tires but just put a leveling kit and 35s on this weekend, kryptonite upper control arms should be in Wednesday so I'll update with a new video soon. The 5 speed on my truck maxes out at around 93 mph, anything above that will send it into limp mode and cuts OD off so its stuck in 4th, very irritating when you need to squeeze in somewhere and everyone around me is going 85 plus, gotta keep an eye on the mph at all times, I always have my OBD reader to clear it but it's still a pain

A tune that smokes is considered very dangerous to the motor. Does anyone know why?

I'd like to switch to someone that has cleaner tunes but all of kory willis tunes smoke on 4 and 5, I run mine on 3, not as much smoke, but there's no way around it when going through PPEI.
@zackk695
@zackk695 Жыл бұрын
@@locomotives4105 That makes sense to me. That’s actually what I want is the option to go into race mode and maybe a small amount of smoke. I know it’s not good for the motor but then again nothing about racing is good for any motor in any sport. I just don’t like that Calibrated Power set mine up and through numerous test and adjustments it just didn’t have a hard hit from 0-40 like my old ass 7.3 with a dirty tune. I also ran a bully dog for 15 years and I actually thought it worked great. It did blow a little smoke but it wasn’t that bad and the engine lasted forever. The only reason I went with Calibrated Power is the way they spoke about tuning on KZbin was convincing and thought I had to go that route to get a clean tune but it did not even come close to the pull that the Bully Dog had. I will eventually get it right.

@locomotives4105
@locomotives4105 Жыл бұрын
I wondered the same thing and then I found the details of each tune from the PPEI website, explaining what tune is used for what level. I copied it here: Power Level 2: Heavy Tow +30/60 RWHP This power level is designed for towing anything over 15,000 lbs. Do not use any power level higher than power level 2 for towing loads that exceed 15k lbs as this will surpass the stock engine and stock transmissions threshold of efficiency which increases the chance of mechanical failure and decreases overall reliability of your vehicle.
