Jim Henson taught me take what you got and fly with it and if you believe in your dreams anything is possible Jim Henson was apart of my life for 12 years his movies his puppets made me laugh they made me cry but most of all his presence was apart of the muppets it's so different now but I know he's watching us everyday because he lives in those muppets. ...

Wow! Whoever thought that an unknown puppeteer by the name of Jerry Nelson would one day have a great big tribute just like Jim Henson had.
@pinkflower77839 жыл бұрын
He wasn't really an unknown puppeteer he was very well known in the Muppet community. Thanks for the comment though.
@MrJoshinJosh9 жыл бұрын
It's only because that mostly nobody saw his face nor actually knew who he really was up until today. That's what I meant by unknown.

This is one of my favorite songs ever. The first time I heard it during the Muppet tribute to Jim Henson. I will freely admit that I cried when I heard it. Little did I know at the time that it was featured on the Bernadette Peters episode of the muppets and originated from Snoopy The Musical. It is such a perfect song, that I'm sure plenty of people can relate to.

MatSKULLZ Actually, in a sense, they are. Yes, logic says that they are felt "skin", faux fur and/or feathers, and ping pong ball halves for eyes, but both fans and the performers themselves treat the characters as if they're living beings. Yes, Kermit and Piggy were/are performed by Jim Henson & Frank Oz/Steve Whitmire & Eric Jacobson, but even Jim/Frank and Steve/Eric treat Kermit and Piggy as though they are as alive as you or I. In other words, they are REAL. Heck, the Muppets even acknowledge at times that they are being performed by people, thus breaking the 4th wall.

Well, despite "competing" for the same audience in the 80s (though Fraggle Rock aired on The Disney Channel during its premium years after its original run on HBO & Nickelodeon owned distribution rights to reruns of The Muppet Show & syndicated episodes of Muppet Babies [before the buyouts by Sesame Workshop for Sesame Street in 2001 & Disney for the Muppet properties in 2004, with JHC still owning the Fraggles]), the mouse and frog share similar philosophies.
