Not bad. Lotta work though. Have you ever tried a tower?
@NichollsSenseАй бұрын
Not yet. We use a lot of potatoes. So, I end up growing a few hundred feet every year. This year we planted about 300 feet (100 lbs worth). I think it would take a lot of towers to grow the volume we do. But, I’m alway open to trying something new. Maybe I’ll look into it.
@jamaraquai4224Ай бұрын
@NichollsSense Ultimately, I guess it's a question of, would you rather do the labor on the front end or the back end? Towers take a good amount of work to set up, but they're a breeze come harvest time which, in my opinion, is the harder bit of work involved with potatoes. Plus, the utilization of vertical growing space as opposed to horizontal means you can plant other (ideally companion) plants in the area surrounding your potatoes that you're currently using for a monoculture.
@NichollsSenseАй бұрын
@@jamaraquai4224well, we went to raised beds last year and that helped a lot. We’ll see what next year brings. I’ll have to do some reading. Thanks for chiming in.

Put 30 to 60 lbs of wheel weights on each side. Then if you still have trouble put sheveron rid tires on it O and 4 heavyweight concrete block to put on it. But limit how long you pull it at and one time. You’ll over heat the hydrostatic transmission. Luck to you
@gardentractorАй бұрын
I have X380. I once pulled a heavy 600 pound downed utility pole across my yard over grass without the mower deck on it with a heavy chain.I easily pull a drag harrow with heavy cinder blocks on it through my gravel driveway. It does fine for pulling especially with the heavy mowing deck on it for weight. I'm about to smooth grade a lumpy bumpy clay patch of land with the harrow without the mowing deck on it so it won't bottom out. For extra traction I am considering buying two rear 42 pounds each suitcase weights John Deer sells for these tractors. They hook on the rear of the frame just above the hitch, no bracket needed. And I can still use the hitch with no obstruction. I won't have any problem with wheel slippage. And IL get a tighter turning radius without the mower in place. Just some ideas for you!

Poisonous so don't eat them. Some people call them potato berries. They are TPS (true potato seeds), but there's nothing true about them. They can be fun experiments though. If you search you tube for TPS potato, you'll find lots of things to watch. They can grow really wild and strange varieties, but not true to the original potato usually. You plant the little seeds from inside the berry that looks like tomato seeds. The potatoes can be multi colored and various sizes but usually not stable for seed potatoes. Lots of people like to see what they can get from them though. Enjoy!

This is what i found online. Hopefully you haven't eaten any: The berries on a potato plant are actually poisonous fruits called potato apples, seed balls, potato tomatoes, or simply berries. They are small, green, and cherry tomato-like, and contain around 300 seeds. Potato berries are toxic because they contain high levels of solanine, an alkaloid also found in potatoes that have been left in the sun and turned green. Eating potato berries can cause headaches, abdominal pain, shock, and diarrhea. If you have children around, you should remove the berries so they don't eat them. Apparently you can use the seeds to plant more potatoes though

Will it pick up small rocks that are 1 inch and smaller?
@NichollsSense2 ай бұрын
The sweeper will pick up quite a bit if you lower the brushes all the way to the ground (sand, small pebbles, some gravel, etc.) However, it’s made for a lawn. The instructions tell you to set the brushes so that the brushes are 1/2” below the top of the grass. For me, that’s about 2.5” off the ground. I usually end up adjusting it a little up or down to make it perform like I want. When I do the driveway (mine is asphalt), I will drop the brushes down to where they are barely touching the surface. Anyway, not sure exactly what your application is, but if you’re keeping the odd stone off your paved driveway, this might do it. If you’re trying to separate rocks out of your yard, I don’t think this is the right tool.
