Happy 20th anniversary of SPAC 04’ to those who celebrate. Hard to believe it’s been that long, how time flies…
@literallyshaking80193 ай бұрын
SPAC 04’ were the best shows I’ve ever personally witnessed (and I’ve seen over 100). The jams were long, patient and transcendent. The segues were like butter, and the entire band was completely locked in from start to finish. Normally Trey (obviously) takes center stage during jams and peaks, but when you listen to these jams they’re all going off as one solid unit. Fish is practically falling off his seat during the Piper peak, Mike is playing prime James Jamerson runs, and Page is laying down layers of texture while Trey ties it all together. To me, this was the last hurrah of the 1.0/2.0 eras. The shows Coventry should have been.

Truth, whole weekend was amazing. If I could give the gods a gift of music it would be this weekend… from the soaring Jim to the cow funk twist.

The LxL is such a perfect exclamation point on everything that happened in the set leading up to it. Such an underlooked jam . Was my favorite part of the night. I remember thinking that had to be the end of the set and how perfect of an ending it was, and with the cavern that followed, it should have been. Probably the best ASIHTOS played to date as well

Thanks @thecleverrose....by the way, loving the art work here! Can you tell us about the artist?
@BuriedFugu10 ай бұрын
Hey thanks! The artwork I made myself digitally. I used an app called mirrorlab. The colors were selected by taking a picture of different paintings I have made. The picture was then altered into different mandalas or some other sort of fractal/abstract image. One example of my paintings, in my other video during Free - Set II 6/26/95 - if you take that image and split it down the middle, that's one painting.

What a weekend... In the midst of such a heavy difficult era... Drugs... Realizing the trajectory of existence...I believe 2004-ish was when there was enough time to get over the shock of 9/11, while simultaneously having enough distance from it to see the trajectory more clearly that the people running shit. This will always equal debauchery, violence, hedonism.... Basically human recklessness. The band and the crowd were both and all partaking in 2004..it wasn't good, it wasn't healthy..... I'm as lucky to be alive as trey is.. but fucking shit....both nights of spac '04 are so e of the best music phish has ever performed. Up there with nye 95, big cypress, Tahoe tweezer, msg nye '19 tweezer, bomb factory fest... Magnaball... It's some of the most incredible improvised music ever performed. I felt then and still do that at the time.. spac was their goodbye to the fans. Thank God it wasn't, but ya know. Jesus what a weekend

Were you at dpac 9/14/00? That was my first show at 16 followed by IT and spac 04 and camden 04. The scene sucks now. Aside from people cooking crack on lot the phans and scene were speacial no social media narcissist or phones. Some chompers but cocaine was hella popular then.

In terms of pure jamming, this is like top of the top of Phish ever.

Everybody knows the Piper, but the WotC outtro jam in Set 1 is A+ and the ASHITOS and LimbXLimb are outstanding as well. All intensely emotive. A truly euphoric Limb peak. A magical weekend in Saratoga.
