if there was anything Marc Webb could bring to the table going into Spider-Man, it's masterfully done romance, and by god did he deliver

They both really carried these movies, no wonder TASM 3 got cancelled after Gwen's character died

People crap on this movie but I loved it, I could look past the weak and hammy villains, because the moments between Andrew and Emma were excellent and authentic. Very few on-screen romantic elationships have had such an impact on myself as the viewer, the heartbreak of Peter losing Gwen is palpable and has stuck with me after all these years. I enjoy the MCU Spider-Man and Tom Holland's portrayal but one thing those films really lack are these kinds of scenes and I hate how little life in New York as a character and atmosphere has featured in 3 separate MCU Spider-Man films now.
