Just heard this being played in the movie Benjamin Button, as an old woman at the home taught an "old" young Benjamin to play the piano. Glad Google could identify it.

My mum used to play this, often when I was asleep... Or at least in bed. I used to like to hear her play... Except when she was weeping, I guess healing her pains through music, much as I do through song. We don't speak now. I hope she still plays.

@@nanashiking3767 Thanks for thinking of me but..... She's toxic so probably not. 👍 Took a long time for me to realize she was never going to love me. And a lot of strength to help the "well doing" gaslighters hear me and not minimize her abuse. I was just a possession to her, and when I was no longer under her control she discarded me like a dirty rag. I'm ok. I've healed and grown and no longer blame myself for her inability to love. I do still have a few fond memories though, and I do still hope she makes use of her creative outlets to relieve her frustrations.
To Randy Kerber The accolades you are getting are so well deserved. I say this because an interpretation of yours of a scott Joplin composition had an impact on me that years of talking and talking and talking was of little help. Briefly, 40 years ago I lost the only children I could have to still birth, partly at least as a result of hospital practice, for which they resolved their guilt by ensuring that I would see it as my fault. This meant that the trauma that I siffered as a result was nigh on impossible to overcome. So I lived with it for 40 years - in a state of shut down, unable to feel anything. Then by chance I happened upon a program about the music of Scott Joplin ( i have always been a fan) and in particular Bethena - A concert Waltz. I was in my car. 2 version of this cpmposition were played one of which was the inherent emotion and yours. I pulled the car over and cried and cried. Your mastery of this piece and of Joplin’s work took me out of shut down. I actually manged to grieve, to feel loss and sorrow. Slowly I am I think beginning to heal. All this is down to you incredible musicality, your ability to express the deep felt emotion n the way in which you played this work. Thank you for what you have given me Jenny Lee from England

How are you doing? Hopefully you lived a life you're proud of, and if you find that you're not, I hope you find the strength to start all over again. - Benjamin Button, letters to his daughter.
