The social security definition stuff is off to me. As someone with severe OCD that quite literally is considered a disability in the sense that it takes HOURS out of my life every single day, acting out on my obsessions and fixating on intrusive thoughts, prevents me from leaving my home a lot, and taking care of myself in certain ways. it’s very hard for people with ocd to prove their symptoms and qualify for these benefits. Cause you can develop it from genetic predisposition and from your home environment as a kid. I really don’t think it’s fair to say someone can’t have a PSD if they can’t qualify for benefits. Meds don’t always help, they don’t for me, and CBT can only go so far. Not everyone has an infinite amount of money or help from family to to not work and get medical care because of their disability all the time. I have to work from home because I have a hard time leaving my house, but I still make money because I don’t have my bills paid for by anyone else. And personally, I’m not the type who wants other people paying for my own issues… It’s not other peoples problem I can’t stop focusing on dumb shit and do weird rituals all the time. Training my own service dog and raising dogs in general has personally been the best therapy for my OCD out of anything I’ve tried because it constantly teaches me to not view every single little thing obsessively and to be less controlling of my home environment because dogs are living unpredictable beings that make messes and get sick and leave hair everywhere I just have to get used to because I love them. They encourage me to leave my house more because it’s more than what’s just for myself and what I’m comfortable with. Idk I just feel like this video is coming from a very inexperienced perspective in the sense that you don’t work and have had your disability from a young age and clearly had the help and resources you needed to diagnose and own a service dog while not having to work. I’m 22 and my OCD rapidly developed around 19 but I never had parents who took my health seriously and forget about having help paying for doctors. I paid to go for two years and I’d rather pay for my SD health than that because it helps me more than meds and CBT. when I was a teen and had my panic attacks feeling like I was drowning and that people were trying to kidnap me all the time I still had to go to school and I still have to power through what I can in present time. So I’ll respond to your controversial take with my own… I really don’t understand why people with debilitating anxiety who don’t work or go out public much as result think it’s ok tell others if it’s ok for them to have a service dog or not when not everyone has that option to not work or stay out of public. If your dog can pass a public access test, is task trained, and the handler knows how to act around other SD handlers, why in the hell should anyone have a say about other peoples illnesses or disabilities. You’re talking about all these increasing numbers of anxiety dogs minimizing people who have debilitating anxiety dogs, but in doing that it’s minimizing the people who literally don’t have many options in how they go about mitigating their disabilities.

Am I eligible for a service dog? I am able to go to school but I get such severe anxiety that I skip all my classes and refuse to go into specific classes, I will hide in the bathroom or the counselors office to get out of class and there's this one girl in my class that if she's in there I will have a breakdown and cannot go to that class for the rest of the semester by skipping. Would I be able to qualify for a service dog since I am unable to learn in some capacity?

I think it’s incredibly unfair to say that if someone is going to work then their anxiety isn’t disabling. Some of us can’t afford to not work, and the intense fear of becoming homeless out weighs the severe anxiety caused by working. I also don’t agree with gatekeeping service dogs. It doesn’t matter how severe a disability is, if a service dog can increase your independence and quality of life then you should be able to seek one. Disabilities are disabilities, regardless of how much more “worse” someone else has it. To my severe anxiety people, you are valid❤

My family members have been like "y would u train a service dog u don't seem disablied u seem fine", meanwhile they know perfectly well that I avoid literally everything and always have. And knowing the fact that there have been multiple points in my life where ever going somewhere I'm required to be, such as school, (middle school especially was a serious issue for me), where I could not go. I would get sick, or start crying, etc. It got to the point where I was unable to go to school at all by 8th grade, and my parents still did nothing other than decide to just homeschool me. I've tried therapy, other methods, etc, now and its basically doing absolutely nothing. I hate when ppl say "oh i get nervous sometimes too" or something along those lines. Because If i just "get nervous" i will 99 percent of the time end up going to the bathroom hiding or panicking and trying to hide it. A lot of people don't realize the difference between anxiety and I cannot function anxiety. <3

I had a different experience and I'm down to share. I live in the UK, Northern Ireland specifically. Mine started the same, strapped to table with some electrodes but I didn't have anything on my back, only bp monitor was a manual cuff on one arm that was taken every 5 minutes . 10 minutes of measurement for baseline before the first tilt, I moved upright in a few intervals with time in-between rather than all at once, it moved so slowly I personally had no dizziness at all .I was told not to talk at all,not even about symptoms.I didn't receive any medication or have an IV placed . I didn't end up getting a diagnosis but the more I look the more I see the test I had is very different to other people's. I felt no dizziness during my test and nearly lost my balance standing after putting my boots back on My resting is usually around 70 to 80 , apparently my tilt table never went over 100, I wear a tracker at home and I regularly hit the 130s when sitting from lying or standing from sitting .

Well I'm going to say something wrong about this video even though it's a little old I'm a kid and I've had service dogs all my life and a couple of them I've had trained by myself the reason that being is that service dogs are very expensive when they're professionally trained so when a kid actually needs a service dog it's actually really good for them to be able to train it by themselves it does not mean that they're fake service Dog Handlers I was 15 when I trained my own service dog❤

Hello! A Dalmatian service dog handler here, I will confirm, that people will walk up to you and ask if their service dogs and my service dog is shockingly very good for mobility, and luckily I’m able to do other sports with her daily, but I do not recommend a Dalmatian as a service dog or for a first time dog owner, and luckily my dal is bred for her sweet temperament along with half of her blood line is bred for service work and the other half are work line so I got her from a responsible breeder and a breeder who was breeding for a certain temperament! Both her parents was service dogs and her grandparents was service dogs as well, and I’ve had dals for years and she does get 2 hours of exercise a day I let her off the leash around my neighborhood and let her run following our car and if I’m not exercising her my family is!

I wouldn’t even go outside, but now I have an ESA. I get a letter from Dr’s once a year. Now because of her I now have to go outside, take a short walk. I don’t take her anywhere inside, unless it’s a pet store. Still working on personal care and housekeeping.

I started sweating so bad, got so hot. Chest started pounding so hard, my chest hurt so bad, I passed out. Haven't found out diagnosis yet. I have sick sinus syndrome, i have a pacemaker and take sotalol. Will find out diagnosis for the TTT in a few days .

@@zaeblet_ nuerocardiogenic synchope. They said the combination of sick sinus syndrome and right ventricular hypertrophy (thickening of the right side of my heart) . When i lift or strain, my vagas nerve sends signal to my heart, putting it in fight or flight mode, due to the damage to my heart. In turn that dumps some kind of cells causing my veins in my legs to dilate. That let's the blood pool in your legs, and your heart to increase rate. Blood pressure drops, and you lose blood flow to the brain. When people pass out, they wind up in the flat position, letting their blood pressure equalize, and you wake back up.
@rickylaw8187
@rickylaw8187 Жыл бұрын
@@zaeblet_ it sounds as though you may have pots syndrome. Which is determined by the tilt table test also. That is what they were testing me for. It's a change in blood pressure when you go from sitting to standing or getting up from a lying position. My daughters both have this. It can be treated, to what degree depends on the cause ? If you want to listen to someone who has alot of knowledge. Look up York Cardiology on KZbin. Very smart man. He explains things in simple terms to. I have literally been swamped with different diagnosis. This last year. They deemed me 100% disabled. I have Minnieres disease, copd, occupational lung disease, cirrhosis (and i don't drink ) they say it's more genetic than anything. I also have sick sinus syndrome, and right ventricular hypertrophy, sleep apnea, asthma. Everything started happening after Covid. Been a crazy year. Also had Graves disease, which caused hyperthyroidism. Tore my calf muscle getting out of bed. I've got a crazy testimony from the last 2 years. It all started with sitting in the floor for about thirty minutes, and I ruptured a disc in my back. Then the craziness started. If I can help you, ask me what you want, and i will give you my best answer based on my knowledge. I've done alot of reading. Been through pacemaker surgery twice in 2 months. First one had bad leads, lol...🤣 2 months later they redid the surgery. I still have palpitations. Doctor told me to learn to live with symptoms. God bless. Let me know if you would like to ask me something.
