Some girl band that I can't entirely recall stole this 00:50. Was it the Runaways?

I grew up in Chicago. Saw ufo every time they played in the 70s. So I was there for the recording of strangers in the night. One of the best live albums ever. I'm 65 now and I'm so glad I grew up with all these great bands in my teen years. I listen to this music today and will continue till I draw my last breath. Music was written composed and performed with pure talent and authenticity you won't hear today

There should be a law requiring all bands to have at least one solo as good as Schenker's in this

Phil Mogg was UFO’s (and Michael’s) best vocalist. Strangers in the Night is proof of that.

I was at this concert. My hearing was shot for weeks afterwards. Schenker was barely visible most of the time, standing at the back of the stage then moving forward for his solos, then would retreat back to the shadows again, kind of added to the air of mystery about him. During Too Hot To Handle, a topless waitress came on stage and served the band champagne, think is was either the first or last date of their tour?

So blessed to have been a teenager in the 70's and see the greatest bands of that era like UFO live.

My first concert was my sophomore year in HS. 1979. UFO played with Aerosmith, Van Halen , Toto and others at the L.A. Colesium. UFO nearly stole the show. They blew us all away ! And I'll never forget bassist Pete Way running back and forth on stage and exhibiting sheer electricity. R.I.P. Pete. You were one of the greatest rockers of all time !

Its a shame that this band never got the recognition that they deserved. I kind of put them in the same category as Anvil..another band that had the right stuff but just never got the recognition it deserved.

even when my band covered this song way back when i always assumed it was about WWII. then i read phil mogg saying it was actually about london in the seventies. the reference to anarchy is about the sex pistols and the political scene. parts of strangers in the night was recorded here in chicago and you can hear friends of mine in the crowd.
