Besides knit and purl, are there any skills you need to get started with brioche? How do you come up with those perfect color combos? I love your Ahsoka ring!
@knitgraffiti4 ай бұрын
Oh thanks so much!!! Yes knit and purl, knit 2 together and purl 2 together. And yarn over. Those are the basic skills I recommend before trying brioche. Color combos are a lot of trial and error!!! It doesn’t always work and that’s probably all the behind the scenes that no one sees. 😂

Two color brioche...is it difficult?
@knitgraffiti4 ай бұрын
Two-color brioche is definitely easier to see the anatomy of the fabric and what is on your needles. I would say not difficult but different and new.

How long did it take you to perfect it
@knitgraffiti5 ай бұрын
Definitely years. I learned in 2014 and started designing the next year. I didn’t really learn how to truly fix mistakes for another year or so. I’m not sure it’s still perfect lol. 😂

I just learned this for socks and it's amazing. Stretchy but shapely. And once you figure it out it's not much more trouble than the long tail cast on.

I’m afraid this demo is so close to being very helpful but the yarn color variations make it just a bit too challenging to figure it out.

You won’t learn if you don’t try it. You’re afraid, ok, do it anyway. You drop a stitch, then you use the resources you have to find a solution. You found this, bookmark it for later reference.

Hi Leslie, when you say the MC was intentionally-dyed for assigned pooling, what length does that one color need to be? I'm trying to find yarn to do your shawl and having trouble choosing bcs I don't know what I'm looking for, exactly
@knitgraffiti Жыл бұрын
Hi!! Well, the best way to find the yarn is to look for yarn that was specifically dyed for Assigned Pooling, like Barker Wool. Each yarn is unique and so the length may differ slightly. You're going to want to look for something that has at least 1/3 of the skein I believe has a section of accent color. I hope that helps!
@latitude1904 Жыл бұрын
@@knitgraffiti - TY I will look for skeins of 1/3 or more one color
