I was gonna chide you for not mentioning Troubleshooter, but it's sadly not on sale. I encourage anyone who's into tactical rpgs not to be put off b the anime-esque aesthetic and pick that game up. It's fantastic and such an underrated gem.

That's the beauty of games that have their own aestetic, most of those look awesome, unlike say games that are all made in the same engines and stick to the same pattern.

I love this game, been playing new game plus currently after having beat it when it first released. The card thing initially turned me off when it was first shown in the trailer but after playing it it was the best choice . Love the strategy

I thought the cards would be an issue for me too, but I think they are actually very well done. Not too many, but still enough to vary your builds a little bit. I'm getting ready to start a new game plus also!

Yeah there’s so much potential for many of those things to be fleshed out in a sequel. A shame it didn’t sell better. I think everyone was just wanting a button masher akin to the Marvel ultimate Alliances.

You're probably right. I feel like Midnight Suns has kind of had a resurgence of sorts lately though, once people gave it a chance and the rough launch stuff was over. Holding out hope for another 🤞

İf they make xcom3, it should be a continuation, not a different game. Major players left the studio so thats a bummer, and chances of getting that is not high.i dont hate midnight suns but we may have lost our beloved franchise because of tbat game.pity... Right now im waiting for xenonauts2 but it also progressing slow, we will see what happens

Nico saved me a lot in the late game with the heals - honestly if her abilities weren't random she would probably be way overpowered. Magick is just fun to use - can't beat throwing everyone through portals and into things 😆

I loved this game since I played the demo, so when it came out got it immediately, have been slow at it (sort of) and I have enjoyed the character dynamics. Tonight I just got my last achievements, je I guess it's time to try the maps in the Workshop or try a few of my own.

I took my time with it, trying to get all of the side objectives as well. It's nice because you can always drop it and come right back to it. I think it hits a nice spot between not too hard and not too simple.

Generally, most tactics games are based around squads or smaller scale groups that you manage and use in battles or missions. Positioning and action point economy are usually big factors. Strategy games are a wider genre, including real time (usually) massive battles, and 4x games like civilization or crusader kings where you handle a broader empire or entity. Also, puzzle style games are considered to be strategy games, sometimes including a squad or tactics to solve said puzzles and sometimes not. My version of the explanation anyways

Yes. Sure it could flop. But a game not being made is automatic flop and a dead series. I just come here from your video about 17 upcoming tactics game, and NONE of them is even close to what X-com 2 was and what X-com 3 should be. For some weird reason a lot of them rather try to copy that Mutant Year zero utter flop.

Troubleshooters is amazing but gets stale as the story progresses. When you already have everyone's skills maxed out there isn't much to do. Crafting is kind of boring too.

I agree, some of the side parts feel like an old school jrpg style game without a whole lot of depth. The level design philosophy of replaying and reusing the same levels to progress sometimes is a little bit of a slog too. Overall I enjoy the game though and I hope they hit a home run with the sequel

You forgot R-type cosmos, wich is a turn based R-type remake of 2 PsP titles + new content. That being said they keep delaying the release of that game so who knows when it will come out
