I certainly do wish that Sibelius could see this, with this many people singing his work. So many creators pass away before they are able to see the victory of their work that I think it must always be so. But here it it is.

I wish they had produced a version of this without background noise and garishly bright lights. It's one of the best renditions on the internet. So e versions are very intimate. This is not intimate, but it has a certain something unearthly and heaven forth.

Finnish lyrics of the Finlandia hymn (V. A. Koskenniemi), translated: O Finland, see: Thy day is dawning The threat of night has already been banished And the lark of morning sings in the brightness As if the vault of heaven itself was singing The reign of night is already being conquered by the whiteness of morning Thy day is dawning, O fatherland O rise, Finland, raise up high Thy head, wreathed by great memories O rise, Finland, Thou showed the world That Thou banished enslavement And that Thou didn't bend under repression Thy morning has begun, fatherland

Why are they so intent on the script. Are they not familiar with their own historic hymn?

Piano notes. When you have a large choir, its important to be on time.

It's the historic hymn of the Finns, but not necessarily of the other Nordic countries.

For many Finns like me, this is absolutely gorgeous. Our Scandinavian fellows have done amazing job to pronounce Finnish like they were natives, even though our language is completely different than that of other Scandinavian countries. Hats off to you.

This might be a finnish choir… there was a few finnish choirs in this festival like the description says.

That's not just a "Song" .. Thats, excuse me, - that's the soul of Scandinavia - and also the soul of the finland and svedish and danske and also the norwegian, german and other countrys!- and, it is the soul of a free, defensive strong whole Europe in common ! Finlandia - it's Europe !
