As a City supporter I think you are being a little hard on your team, I know 6-0 is painful but when City hit that mood they can do it to a lot of (Dare I say bigger without meaning any insult) teams. Your target this season is just to stay up and I think you have enough to do that, you have a very good manager and some more than decent players (Especially "Our Liam ;0) ) plus a crowd that gets behind the team.

I doubt many Town fans thought we'd beat you. We lost 2-0 at home to Brighton a few days ago and that's the sort of fixture where we should be aiming to pick up some points. That was harder to take than losing to one of the best club sides in Europe.

@@mikedale1071 Your welcome ;0), I am old enough to remember when Ipswich town were one of the "Big" teams and that football goes in circles. All we can do as supporters is stick with the team and even at 0-6 your crowd were behind them and that brings a lot of respect from City fans having been there in the not too distant past. Best wishes for the rest of the season from me and I am sure a lot of other City fans.

Yes we are in the same league. But there are levels in the EPL. I think some fans need to understand this.
@geoffpoole48323 сағат бұрын
That's a really good point; there are several mini-leagues within the EPL. By contrast that isn't really the case in the EFL, which is a more level playing field.

Was good to talk to you in the Travelodge. My Man City mate said we’ll be able to do enough to stay up IF we play with a bit more belief.
@of_tcmКүн бұрын
I think you guys can fight to stay up. You just met a Man City that decided they'd had enough. I still think this was never the game to decide your future. You just need to win the other matches. Ipswich have won my heart this year. Great match guys.
@carlmichael5592Күн бұрын
Time will tell. Unfortunately the last two games we've completely lost belief when going behind, which we never used to do. Seems this is what the Premier League can do to even the best coached teams.

As mentioned on show the onscreen VAR decision was “The referee’s call of yellow card for João Pedro was checked and confirmed by VAR, who deemed that the challenge was not serious foul play." The FA’s definition is: “A player is guilty of serious foul play if he uses excessive force or brutality against an opponent when challenging for the ball when it is in play.” For me Jao Pedro intentionally accelerates into Walton when he knows he can’t get to ball, the ref/VAR will argue it was momentum. But as per one of this week’s 3 words - “Let’s Move On”

Great summary as ever thanks. I don't think we'd have attained the heights we did today without that game at Arsenal, which saw us playing a more robust game strategy that we clearly learned a lot from. Walton was very unlucky to lose his place to Hladky through injury at the beginning of last season, so it's only right that he now has a run as starting keeper. I can't help but think KM wanted to give him a game before the window. He took his chance magnificently. Broadhead also a much tougher and more creative presence than other options and we can also look forward to seeing his name in the starting eleven from now on. Delap unplayable for the most part and Omari had a superb game too. What a way to finish an incredible year.

The quality of Arsenal defenders are massively better than what we faced at Tottenham. Against Chelsea we need to start with today’s formation and later in the game make changes to be more threatening!

This was a good result - not for survival but for team and fan morale. Another thrashing after Newcastle could have been disastrous. Considering our league position may we see a change of tactics for the second half of the season?

Relegation battle will probably be between Leicester, Ipswich and Wolves as Southampton seem gone. Palace and Everton are both more solid and experienced. Wild card is Man U collapsing, though highly unlikely.
@chriswright501624 күн бұрын
I, for one, have been waiting for us to play in this kind of shape for a while now. We simply cannot hope to match a high percentage of the teams at this level, so we have to develop the same kind of tactics, though far more refined, as those we experienced against "lesser" sides in the Championship and especially League One. We have to nick results, rather than thinking with can go toe to toe with these sides. The downside of pressing is that we leave ourselves woefully exposed in transition as teams break on us. It really is a matter of grinding out a result in most games, but breaking more effectively than we did today. Not tactics we are used to, or even particularly like, but survival is the only goal this season. We can become expansive and expressive when we have a deeper squad. Great thoughts as ever guys, thanks so much.
